There is freedom within, there is freedom without

May 27, 2019 by Raymond Hackney

The rock band Crowded House was formed in 1985 and on Sunday the domain name CrowdedHouse.com closed at $12,000 on GoDaddy. The name was owned by the founder Neil Finn who has his website at NeilFinn.com. The domain name was registered at 123 Reg not GoDaddy, now interestingly today the whois shows NameFind as the registrant. I don't know if all 123 Reg names go there first for the registrant … [Read more...]

NameJet to take a second go at the unsold inventory from NamesCon 2019

May 2, 2019 by Raymond Hackney

NameJet sent out an email a few minutes ago that they are going to be relisting many names from the NamesCon 2019 auction. This time with lower reserves. I would also hope with lower commission, but I don't have any word on that. Some of the names include XU.com, BeautifulWomen.com and SingleMen.com. The email read: There are HUNDREDS of PREMIUM NAMES from the last online … [Read more...]

Toni.com closes at $42,500

April 18, 2019 by Raymond Hackney

Back on 4/8 I wrote that Toni.com just hit GoDaddy auctions and was already at $21,000 in the first few hours. Many thought the domain would get renewed in the few days where the renewal window was open. The domain was not renewed and closed an hour ago at $42,500. Bidder 6160601 won the name, they got involved at $33,000. Yinan Wang let me know he saw this name in a domain newsletter back … [Read more...]

Who got a deal and who overpaid at the NamesCon live auction?

January 31, 2019 by Raymond Hackney

Now that there has been a bit of time to digest the sales data from the NamesCon live auction, what names did you think were a bargain and which did you think the buyer overpaid? I think Stop.com was probably the best buy along with SmartDrugs.com. I think stop is very versatile and smart drugs is the future. ShoeRack.com for $6,000 is a good buy imo. I think the seller did really well to … [Read more...]

January 2, 2019 by Raymond Hackney

NameJet released their December sales and XNK.com led the way at $21,000. There were 74 sales $2,000 and over. Only the one 3L.com, not really a great price at that. There were 14 5N.coms that sold in December. Info.net was the highest non .com … [Read more...]
