GoDaddy shutdown over 15,000 subdomains where surprisingly the legitimate owners of the domain did not even know they were hacked. The websites had fake endorsements from celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, and Shark Tank to name just a few. Gadgets360 on NDTV.com reported Spammers continue to find new ways to lure unsuspecting users on the Web into clicking malicious links or … [Read more...]
Toni.com closes at $42,500
Back on 4/8 I wrote that Toni.com just hit GoDaddy auctions and was already at $21,000 in the first few hours. Many thought the domain would get renewed in the few days where the renewal window was open. The domain was not renewed and closed an hour ago at $42,500. Bidder 6160601 won the name, they got involved at $33,000. Yinan Wang let me know he saw this name in a domain newsletter back … [Read more...]

Toni.com hit GoDaddy expired auctions this morning and is already up to $21,260. The domain looks to have been registered in 1996 and owned by a company from Ecuador. The company, Industrias Lácteas Toni S.A has an active website at ToniCorp.com. Where do you think it closes? “Not up for a bidding war? How about one of these?”
It's hard being all things to all people and trying to get paid by all sides as well. NameMarket wrote a post on Namepros that shined light on something I had not come accross before, and neither did GoDaddy's Paul Nicks and Joe Styler. While searching one of his names on GoDaddy he got a message that said, Sorry, word1word2.com is only available at auctions. "Not up for a bidding war? … [Read more...]
Undeveloped.com decides to step up and help domainer
I wrote a post a couple days ago about a complicated situation that took place across multiple platforms. Two 5N.coms were purchased on GoDaddy auctions in early September, that person actually used a credit card that was no good. That person sold the names to a Namepros member for $550, on Undeveloped. $190 less than they won the names at GoDaddy.T That member then sold those names for $700 to … [Read more...]
8833.com looks to be stolen
TrueDN posted on Namepros that 8833.com was listed at Sedo for $9,000. The member spoke to the previous owner and they said it was stolen from their account at GoDaddy. The name is no longer showing for sale, and since this happened after regular business hours for Sedo, it might have been purchased. The name moved from GoDaddy to NameSilo. … [Read more...]
So this is happening, AmazonCars.xyz at $33,510
I have had a bunch of emails over the last week as to why this auction has not been cancelled? Some believe it's bogus and others are focusing on the TM aspect of Amazon. When discussing the last crazy auction for 6666666.com on Namepros Joe Styler said: First these kinds of bids are rare as we have a bidder verification process and manual and automated checks. In the few cases that something … [Read more...]
