A couple weeks ago Toni.com sold at GoDaddy for $42,500, the name previously sold back in 2013 for $12,800. Commenters here speculated who the buyer was. Everything from a hair care company, to a yogurt company, to Toni Braxton.
The buyer was a domain investor Deepak Ramani and his Cyber Capital Technology purchased the name. The name is parked at Undeveloped.com. Another gem owned by Deepak and his company is IA.com, also parked at Undeveloped.com. It looks like NicName is a related company.
Here is a video where Deepak was interviewed a few years back, he is from the fashion industry, knew nothing about domain names, and says he does not read forums or blogs.
Best of luck to him on the name.
I think it’s a great buy…good luck to him on it.
Not true, the highest bidder at $42,500 defaulted and the name was offered to bidders below them and this guy was probably 3rd or 4th in line, so he actually paid under 20k to get the name.
Godaddy can verify the above claim!
Makes sense, because 42k is far too high for the name.
Ray is right, the top bidders reneged and it dropped down to right around the $20k mark, not the reported $42.5k.
wow…nice name.
great interview at a hotel room
Encore:
That was the only Toni I could think of , so debatable how good the name is I suggest
Actually, I mean the live version:
I knew it was Anil, he is a great domainner. Let me know what domain you book next Sir.
Hi Raymond,
Please remove my above comment if this name didnt close at above price or auction is sounding kind of not what i like to read about in Godaddy, where names are bidded up and then buyer defaults so next bidders can purchase at a cheaper price.
