Back on November 5th I posted about Mike Mann declaring himself the Domain King, and posted a poll. There was a poll on Namepros as well. Here on TheDomains.com Rick Schwartz won by a 57% to 43% vote. On Namepros the vote was wider with Rick getting a 62.2% of the vote. There were 203 votes here and 111 on Namepros. … [Read more...]
Smoothies, Trump and Domain investing
There is a story that came out today about Daily-Harvest.com, they apparently have filed a lawsuit. The owners of the smoothie company say dailyharvest.com browsers are purposely being directed to seriously off-brand websites because Daily Harvest won’t pay up to acquire the unhyphenated domain name. Apparently Tracy Fogarty and her company enaming have been named in the suit. Tracy Fogarty … [Read more...]
Flippa has a new pricing in place and looking to add ID verification
I have to be honest since Kevin Fink left Flippa, I have not spent a ton of time there, looking at a domain auction that stood out once in awhile. I had a friend who wanted to list a business for sale and told me he wanted to use Flippa. While on the site checking out the price for business listings, I noticed a couple days ago Flippa changed their pricing. It will now cost $25 to list a … [Read more...]

In the case of Uniregistry which resides in the Cayman Islands, Mr. Berryhill wrote: Kate said: ↑ Uni is offshore, that must have … [Read more...]
VeriSign’s potential long term goal
Mike and I were discussing the VeriSign blog post today and the subsequent outrage in the domain investor community. Mike might be onto something though, these were his takes about the post, the disparaging language of calling some of your biggest customers "scalpers." and the long game for Verisign. The long game for VeriSign is about removing price caps, while these increases are nice, … [Read more...]
Without domain speculators VeriSign’s profit outlook would look a lot different
Reading the blog post by Jeannie McPherson VeriSign's Director of Product Management, Social Media and Mobile Applications, one has to wonder if she understands the business of domain names. Ms. McPherson doesn't like that TurnCommerce the company behind HugeDomains, DropCatch and NameBright is lobbying Congress And yet, TurnCommerce has been actively lobbying our government to freeze the … [Read more...]
