Verisign DNIB shows Q2 2021 closed with 367.3m registrations across all TLD’s

Verisign VRSN (NASDAQ) released their Q2 2021 Domain Name Industry Brief

The second quarter of 2021 closed with 367.3 million domain name registrations across all top-level domains (TLDs), an increase of 3.8 million domain name registrations, or 1.0%, compared to the first quarter of 2021.1,2 Domain name registrations have decreased by 2.8 million, or 0.7%, year over year.1,2

.Com and .Net showed gains up 5.2% vs Q2 2020, that’s an increase of 8.5 million domain names.

.Com and .Net had an increase of 2.6 million domain name registrations, or 1.5%, compared to the first quarter of 2021.

As of June 30, 2021, the .com domain name base totaled 157.0 million domain name registrations, and the .net domain name base totaled 13.6 million domain name registrations.
