Curious why my comments on panamapapers.com and other domain extensions posted last night were deleted Michael. Didn’t believe it was offensive relative to other posts I’ve read here.

    • Ray Marshall says

      April 7, 2016 at 9:40 am

Not very professional Michael to be deleting your readers’ comments. I’m surprised that you would take such action on something of interest to the domain community.

    • Ray Marshall says

      April 7, 2016 at 10:01 am

Elliot reported on panamapapers.com on April 4 at http://www.domaininvesting.com/panamapapers-com-registered-last-november.

  3. Michael Berkens says

    Ray

I didn’t delete any comments, Ray seemed to

One comment got caught in the spam filter since it had a link and I’m only checking those once a day or so, just cleared it through.

However I have no idea of what panamapapers.com has to do with Sedo sales so like you say in another comment although off topic, like this is way off topic and that is another reason comments are deleted.

Also I found a deleted comment where you were offer a domain you owned for sale, those comments have NEVER been allowed, Raymond correctly deleted that one.

Also I retweeted Elliot’s post the other day

    • Ray Marshall says

      April 7, 2016 at 11:19 am

      Michael,

Let’s be clear here. I’ve never posted a domain for sale on your blog last night. So, in addition to deleting my comments (the buck stops with you), you now go on the offensive and accuse me of something I didn’t do. Again, unprofessional! Several others have stated they had domains for sale on your blog and you didn’t delete their comments. My comments last night were off-topic which I stated in the very beginning. Not the first to do so. Not a good way to treat a customer. And yes, readers are customers. Enough said!

  4. Michael Berkens says

    April 7, 2016 at 11:32 am

    Ray

First of all you’re a reader not a customer.

A customer is someone who buys something from you.

Someone who reads a Mashable post is not a customer of Mashable

2nd you say above”I’ve never posted a domain for sale on your blog ” but when I looked for deleted comments I found this one:

Panamapapers in various tlds are flying off the shelf folks. Panamapapers.broker is selling at a
    discount for only 685 Euros.

    So you are lying.

Third our comment policy is stated on ever post:

“TheDomains.com welcomes reader comments. Please follow these simple rules:

    Stay on topic
    Refrain from personal attacks
    Avoid profanity
Links should be related to the topic of the post
No spamming. Listing domains, products, or services will get the comment deleted”

So when i said Raymond deleted the comment it wasn’t to throw him under the bus so to speak I would have deleted it to but I didn’t see it personally until you pointed it out and I searched for it.

Fourth don’t fuck with me, it will not end well for you

  5. Ray Marshall says

    April 7, 2016 at 11:51 am

“Also I found a deleted comment where you were offer a domain you owned for sale”. Care to point that out what domain I own that is for sale? By the way, I didn’t use profanity AND I don’t threaten people like you just did.

  6. Michael Berkens says

    April 7, 2016 at 11:52 am

    just did

Panamapapers in various tlds are flying off the shelf folks. Panamapapers.broker is selling at a
    discount for only 685 Euros.

    • Ray Marshall says

      April 7, 2016 at 12:23 pm

I was expressing observations, not an advertisement for selling my own domains. Sometimes, we are prone to misreading someone’s comment and reacting prematurely. Happens to me all the time, hence, my desire to reread something. Care to reread my comments? You might be surprised by what you see.

    • Ray Marshall says

      April 7, 2016 at 12:43 pm

I would also point out that my lead comment was focused on the owner of panamapapers.com, when he purchased the domain, and that he published his book yesterday in Germany. He co-authored that book. Relevance and focus was on the domain. Just making an observation on your blog. I also commented on panamapapers being registered on varoius domain extensions and that they are “flying off the shelves.” Pointing out some interesting observations which is common on your blog.

      • Domain Shame says

        April 7, 2016 at 5:34 pm

What does that have to do with NameJet sales ? Nothing.

        • Ray Marshall says

          April 7, 2016 at 6:44 pm

          Do you speak for Michael?

          • Domain Shame says

            April 7, 2016 at 6:55 pm

No I asked a simple question my value as a reader here is just as great as yours no more no less. what does panama papers.com have to do with Namejet sales it’s a simple question. Everyone could make off-topic observations it just doesn’t seem to make much sense.

          • Ray Marshall says

            April 7, 2016 at 9:14 pm

            @ Domain Shame

This went beyond the relevance of a comment. When individuals are accused of an action they didn’t commit, called a liar, and then threatened, I believe they have a right to stand up for themselves. I’ve seen enough bullying in my personal life as well as with my relatives and close friends at work, school, and now on the Internet. I believe bullying needs to be confronted, even on the Internet.

  7. Michael Berkens says

    April 7, 2016 at 2:27 pm

That comment is fine and is posted

    • Josh says

      April 7, 2016 at 5:43 pm

Mike may I ask how is that fine ? Can we all just use any post on the domains to make observations ?

I think the new uniregistry market is great. That will help more domain owners than talking about panama papers. Hooray for interesting observations.

      • Ray Marshall says

        April 7, 2016 at 6:50 pm

Hmmm. You support selective comments on this blog? So, if some doesn’t share your perspective then they should ask that your comments be deleted? From what I’ve read over the past several years, that will result in a lot of pruning. Thanks for sharing your observation.

        • Striker says

          April 7, 2016 at 9:31 pm

If this were my blog, I’d ban you by blocking your IP address.

          MB, bring out the ban-hammer!

  8. Michael Berkens says

    April 8, 2016 at 9:53 am

    Ray

Again and for the final time the rules of comments are posted above and again and the 1st rules is

    “stay on comment”

Now if you want to make observations, comments on things completely unrelated the comment is subject to being deleted.

So you can either comment on the blog post you noted on Elliot blog or post on the subject in a forum or start your own blog where you can opine on any issue you chose.
