After backing out some bids 6666666.com closes at $71,000

October 1, 2018 by Raymond Hackney

After backing out 35 bids and removing 3 bidders, the auction closed at $71,000 as a new bidder came in at the end and bid $71,000. Joe Styler replied to me on Namepros earlier about walking back some bids. We verify all bids especially high value ones. There's two bad bidders on this auction. The bidders were banned from bidding again and other more secure steps were also taken but the bids … [Read more...]

6666666.com now up to $99,999, will it get paid?

October 1, 2018 by Raymond Hackney

Last week I wrote about 6666666.com (7x) at GoDaddy. 6666666.com is off to the races.  It was up to $78,777 after 2 days. While that price seemed outrageous the auction has gone higher and now sits at $99,999 and closes today. GoDaddy educated everyone on the Dispute.com auction how fast payment needs to be made. This is the best case scenario closing on a Monday, so do you think this … [Read more...]

The domain king is a slumlord? Really?

September 26, 2018 by Raymond Hackney

So Rick got things going yesterday with his post on LLL.coms. I was particularly interested because I was having a discussion last week with a longtime domainer friend. He does not really care for 3L.coms and felt they were overhyped. Personally I have always liked 3L.coms and Xef.com was one of my first purchases many years ago. 3Character.com was founded 13 years ago long before most blogs … [Read more...]

According to the article: The Packers apparently reached out via a service to anonymously engage the Harris family in September after discovering the domain name had been “just two weregistered eks before.” The team offered $5,000 for … [Read more...]

The bidding war for 6666666.com

September 23, 2018 by Raymond Hackney

Well it looks like another wild auction taking place on GoDaddy. 6666666.com is off to the races. That's seven 6's and the bidding after two days is up to $78,777. Now who knows if GoDaddy will come in and adjust bids like they did with 636.cc. Either way this should be one to watch. The domain was registered in 2002, held by BWI Domains out of the Caymans, the domain eventually landed in … [Read more...]

Gab.ai upgrades to Gab.com

September 22, 2018 by Raymond Hackney

Over a week ago we wrote about Gab.com being sold for $220,000. The domain had previously sold for $200,002 on Sedo back in 2014. The sale took place on Flippa and as expected the buyer is now revealed as Gab.ai the social networking site that has gained a lot of publicity over the last year. Gab (social network) - … [Read more...]
