So Rick Schwartz is mighty pissed at the ability for someone to make an offer on Spaceship without the email address being verified. Rick posted, “You mean, they don’t even verify the email address for an anonymous offer? Sounds ridiculous to me. How about You?”
Spaceship replied:
“Hello, Thank you for your patience! We would like to clarify that our system allows anonymous offers, which means anyone can enter an email address, sometimes by mistake or due to a typo, and the offer is created. Your feedback has been noted and passed along as part of this improvement effort. If you would like to get an update on the status, you can contact us anytime and refer to this tracking number – xxxxx. As for the offer itself, it has already been canceled, so there is nothing to worry about. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. – Best regards, Spaceship Team”
Now Richard Kirkendall chimed in a couple minutes ago and said the problem would be addressed. For the top guy Richard does provide a lot of almost immediate feedback. Richard is talking to his team now to get this fixed.
UPDATE: When Rick roars stuff gets done fast.
Rick posted:
Update:
@spaceship now understands the exact issue and seriousness of it. The issue is being addressed properly and hopefully it will help everyone.
Hello Rick, Thank you for taking the time to reply and for raising this with us so openly. We completely understand how upsetting it must be to see your name misused in this way, and we want to reassure you that we take this extremely seriously.
Under no circumstances would Spaceship, through our team or platform, ever tolerate scams, misrepresentation, or abuse for promotional purposes.
Transparency is at the core of how we work, and we know your trust depends on that. Your report was escalated right away. The seller responsible has already been banned from the platform, and our senior team is reviewing the process behind this to strengthen safeguards and prevent similar cases in the future.
We’re truly sorry this situation has caused you frustration and shaken your confidence in us. It’s a tough moment, but also a valuable reminder for us to do better, and we’re committed to learning from it. We deeply appreciate your trust and hope we can earn it back by showing you the improvements we’re making. – Best regards, Spaceship Team
