WetPaint.com was the big number yesterday closing at $74,000. The story behind WetPaint.com is pretty interesting. Wetpaint was named by Time Magazine as one of the 50 Best Websites of 2007.

The company raised a decent chunk of venture capital in three different rounds. The last round being $25M in 2008.

According to the company Wikipedia page,

In December 2012, Wetpaint was acquired by Viggle, an entertainment rewards platform, which was shortly renamed to its former name, Function(X).

Updates to wetpaint.com stopped in 2018, leaving the site stagnant until it finally went defunct in mid-2020 and Wetpaint has been removed 10,000 timeline photos on Facebook.

According to Ahrefs the site has a domain rating of 75. 1.5M backlinks with 83% being do follow. Linking websites 47K with 75% do follow.
