Dynadot making a change to the way auctions run

October 19, 2021 by Raymond Hackney

Dynadot

Dynadot has sent out an email about an upcoming change to their auction platform. No longer will there be an end time set after 20 bids in the last five minutes.

Message

We’re writing to inform you of an upcoming change to the way auctions run in our Aftermarket. Currently, when a bid is placed in the last 5 minutes of an auction, the auction time is extended for another 5 minutes. This can happen up to 20 times before the auction’s final “end time” is set.

On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, we’ll be removing the 20 times extension limit. Auctions will continuously extend for 5 minutes if a bid is placed in the last 5 minutes. This change applies to all auction types.

Thank you for participating in our Aftermarket. Please feel free to contact us at info@dynadot.com if you have any questions.

Best Regards,
Team Dynadot

Makes sense. If the price can get even just a little bit higher with some further 5 minutes extensions, that’s more money for them (directly with some auctions, and through commission with others).
