Did Cocoon.com sell for $225,000?

February 12, 2020 by Raymond Hackney

This Week in Startups did a video with the founders of Cocoon. Cocoon is a special app for your most special relationships, designed to keep you close no matter where you are.

You want to start at 14:50 – The host says that’s a great domain name, a $250,000 domain name. Did you pay that much? More or less, the founders say less, we can say less than $250,000. The one founder said it’s surprising that domain names still matter.

Listen to the back and forth below, it’s just two minutes.

I don’t know if the domain sold for $225,000 but here is a snapshot from DomainIQ. The domain was registered in 1996. The seller looks to have been Virtual Network SA.

Tip of the cap to Lox on the video content.

Interesting interview comments. I would be surprised if they had paid the $225,000 BIN given the make offer option on the page.
