Allstar.com expired and over $18,000 already

October 13, 2019 by Raymond Hackney

The domain Allstar.com is poised to be a big auction at GoDaddy. The domain name has quite the history.

1996

Allstar.com 1996
This was the first company to use Allstar.com

2000

Allstar.com 2000
In 2000 you see mention of a merger

In 2002 another change

Another company and another merger

2003

Allstar.com 2003
Allstar.com became an online sportsbook

The site continued to run for years and then began forwarding to AllstarSportsbook.com in 2012

Allstar.com 2012
The site makes notice of the change

The domain was owned by Harlequin Holdings Limited, these are the same people who purchased Dating.com for $1.75 million back in 2010.

The expired auction is less than two days old and already at $18,250. It closes on 10-21-19. This is an expired Enom auction, so there is a longer time to renew than if it was a GoDaddy registration.

GoDaddy valuation of $21,613 way too cheap in my opinion.

*Update* Bidding went over $40,000 and then got renewed.

That is a great name…I actually own Allstar.me and always thought my name was better than
the .com Anyway, hopefully the sale of this name helps the sale of mine. I have plenty of offers
over the years just never one good enough to get me to close.

You honestly think a .me is better than a .com? It might if it was a sweet name hack that made sense, like hire.me or similar, but it doesn’t make sense in your case. The only reference I can find to the phrase “all-star me” is a song. It’s not something that people say.

I honestly think that if marketed properly…AllStar.me can generate just as much revenue as the .com. I’ve proven this with my own business. I own both PrivateMoney.com and Privatemoney.me ….PrivateMoney.me has earned me a considerably amount of business over PrivateMoney.com over the years.

Think of “AllStar.me” as a site where sports recruiting, modeling agencies, or talent scouts could congregate and find hidden talent. Now does it look more valuable?

I used to think like that …I still hold on to some of those fantacies but not many.. save yourself the grief. Your .me is no comparison to the .com., only in your mind. But don’t be discouraged just learn.

What a Monster Name. One of the best 2-worders we’ve seen on auction in a long time.

My predictions are at the least 75k if a domainer picks this up. Could be lower 6 digits even.

But if just (2) end users get a hold of this auction, sky is the limit!

I saw detour.com on godaddy expired auctions a while back. Does anyone know if that went through?

I predict around 100 K USD – yes, GD’s valuation is way off again.
Great branding for sportsbetting, e-sports, video games, streamers and more

Is the bidding real? Wouldn’t people be shilling it up to get it cheap as an under bidder?

I have a question ,please anyone or all please give your opinion or fact.
If a domain such as Allstar.com was stollen out of a another godaddy account or transferred from another register and left dead to expire in a bogus account, which now will not be on watch to real owner. can the owner get the domain back in the future and if so would godaddy auctions refund the auction price

if it is not in godaddy account, godaddy can not get it back.
it happened to me couple years ago and godaddy just said they can not do anything once it’s out of godaddy.
No one will help you until you hire a lawyer.

Is this a strategy to see if your domain is desired (not necessarily in this case)
