.XYZ Announces New Buy It Now Premium Domain Tiers with Standard Renewal Fees

July 31, 2018 by Michael Berkens

The .XYZ registry announced today a new Buy It Now Premium domain tier with standard renewal fees

The registry’s new selection of premium domains will have $10 MSRP renewal price (each domain registrar sets it own price for domain names which can vary from MSRP).

At Midnight UTC on August 1, XYZ will be releasing a new selection of premium .xyz domain names that can be purchased now and will
feature a standard renewal fee of $10 MSRP for each domain.

New tiers will beaded onto the existing list of .xyz variably priced premium domains, and will be priced as
follows:

• New Tier A: $3,000 MSRP to register | $10 MSRP to renew and transfer

• New Tier B: $700 MSRP to register | $10 MSRP to renew and transfer

• New Tier C: $350 MSRP to register | $10 MSRP to renew and transfer

More than 200 of XYZ’s retail partners will begin offering these new premium domain tiers on August 1, making them immediately accessible to millions of domain investors, businesses, and individuals around the world. XYZ has made public a select list of domains from the new tiers as a sample of the kind of domains included in them, which you can find below:

From “New Tier A”:

• Asia.xyz
• Hey.xyz
• Chat.xyz
• XXL.xyz

From “New Tier B”:

• Embark.xyz
• Tame.xyz
• 152.xyz
• 168.xyz
• 185.xyz
• 6g.xyz

From “New Tier C”:

• Generally.xyz
• Josi.xyz

Daniel Negari, CEO of XYZ is quoted as saying: “We have been getting offers on reserved inventory and privately selling domains. We decided to simplify the process with these new price tiers and allow customers to get instant satisfaction by buying domains through the registrar channel on a ‘buy it now’ basis, with standard renewals, it’s always been my goal to make .xyz more unique than any other domain available, and my team and I have accomplished that through innovative products like the 1.111B® Class, our unique support of the #GenXYZ community of .xyz adopters, our incredible Anti-Abuse Team, and now our new affordable ‘buy it now’ .xyz domain tiers.”

Well… the whole xyz project is terrible. Just stay away from it all. As always: go for the .com (or cctld) or leave it.

    Pass.

The .XYZ hype train is over and has been for some time. They are trying anything to stay relevant.

It’s over for .xyz. All they can do now is drop prices.

Why would anyone get a domain that’s overwhelmingly used for spam, phishing, malware, and all sorts of other abuse? .xyz frequently sells for a few cents at a few registrars, and that’s the type of pricing that attracts malicious users who use the domain for a year before getting a new one.

We’ve blocked all .xyz domains on our network and automatically spam any comments which link to this malicious TLD. Unless you want to be viewed as a malicious spammer, I don’t see why anyone would use a .xyz domain.

If you have blocked all domains from specific extension from your network, no matter what, you are pretty lazy (or you have pretty lazy) administrator(s). I have NEVER received spam email from .xyz domain, but I am receiving DOZENS of spam emails from .com domains daily…so what are you speaking about? I know BS when I read it…

I’m getting around the same amount of spam from .xyz domains, as I’m getting from .com. Thing is, there are 80 times (!) more .com domains than .xyz…

I have one .xyz name, Union.xyz and nobody wants it.

I must have made 1000 outbound sales attempts and not, a, smell.

You would think that Union (dot) anything would at least illicit some interest!

I check ntldstats.com everyday to witness the carnage.

Most days, .xyz hemorrhages registration numbers.

More notably, however, is .club’s numbers.

Every day for the last 3 weeks, .club’s numbers have been in the XXXX and XXXXX , EVERY DAY!

    any incites?

I believe they will turn the lights off on most (over 90%) GTLDs within the next 5 years.
“Paradox of Choice” — customers, especially Millennials, do NOT want more choices. Prefer quality over quantity.

I personally think this is a step into right direction by registry. It apparently makes things more clear and simple both for end users and for domain investors – I am therefore sure more end users will buy and develop those names.

The new tier pricing is pretty reasonable, imo, if you can buy something like chat.xyz for 3k and then pay 10 renewal/year, this is not bad at all! I am not saying buy it no matter what, but some interesting purchases will be probably possible.

    Thanks for sharing 🙂

.xyz and .club are in free-fall, hemorrhaging badly

4 years into the ngtld experiment and in free-fall and hemorrhaging registrations.

    I have

    fence.club
    grant.club
    incorporate.club
    merit.club
    pamper.club
    514.club

    and nobody wants them

Either I have been black-balled for good by the domain elite, or .club is dead!

.club has lost registrations every day for 3 weeks now. Every day losing xxxx and xxxxx in numbers.

If this is not alarming to anyone, then I am as in need of “professional help” as the domaining elite have proposed.

    Over

Robert, in all due respects, your keywords are too weak. This is the reason why nobody wants them, imo.
514? Why? For what? Who would want that? are you some kind of expert on Chinese market, or ….?

It is not that “.xyz and .club are in free-fall, hemorrhaging badly” as you wrote, it is that you have NOT selected even 1 good name.

Saying that, Union in .xyz is not bad, it is actualy pretty decent…but again, you can not speak about position on whole extension based on your one name, and your (non) success with it…
