BTM.com in pending delete as investor forgets to renew

It looks like Elequa from Future Media Architects forgot about one of his valuable 3L.com domains. I saw a post on Namepros about BTM.com being in pending delete and while I thought it would be a company that got acquired and the name got lost in the shuffle, it was not. It’s actually owned by a well known domain investor.

I did text Elequa to let him know to see if he can get something done.

What a shame. Simple error, most likely.

Isn’t Uniregistry the registrar for “domain investors”?

You’d think a mechanism would be in place to protect them.

There are a couple of mechanism actually.. First of all all names are set on auto renew as a default setting. Even if you accidentally would disable it, you would get email reminders on a daily basis starting around 4 weeks prior to the expiration. No ideal what happened here.

Agreed. Just saying that I’m pretty sure Rob Monster would never have let this happen.

I wish that was the case for me. I transferred 5 domains to Uniregistry a few years ago to test them out and I lost the first name that came up for renewal and I definitely wanted to keep it. I don’t plan on using them ever again.

did you uncheck the auto renew or what happened?

Actually I monitored that domain name. It seems Uniregistry set the domain has renewed until 2019. Then it got into deletion period and the expiration date was reset to 2018.

Unless Uniregistry is playing with WHOIS information like the scammers and incompetents at Network Solutions, that alter the expiration date at the *Registrar level* to the next year even when the domain has not been renewed, then this might have been a seriuos bug with their system.

I know many people (actually, maybe even most) believe one person’s misery is another person’s gain.
In cases like this, I hope the owner/investor can get his domain back.

    That’s why dropcatch firms for?
Buyer is happy and seller is frustrated not to see these 3letter on the alphabet,?
    Life without these 3 letters
