Yes! For all you doubters that Great.com would not go through and of course then I sold Super.com for $1.2mm as well as many others. Great win for RightOfTheDot, NameJet, NamesCon, and the entire domain industry!

You are a bit full of yourself huh? Not a win for the entire industry, only those who got the sales proceeds. End of story.

i bet you won’t hear monte’s name at the next years namescon auction with the overall terrible results.

Sales were just under $3mm, best auction at NamesCon yet and we are not done, going to put some more names up in another online event from NamesCon in the next week or two. If you don’t hear my name at next year’s auction it will be by my option. I have the rights to run the auction again if I choose to do so.

You won jack shit!!!!!!!! the only winner was Monte Cahn.

Super.com and Great.com, both domains parked, both with a “Buy this domain” sign, one under privacy… I thought at least one domain would have been bought by an enduser.

You guys are too much. Of course all big sales are good for the entire industry and your own domain holdings. high 6 and 7 sales are few and far between and rarely reported and when they happen, its good for for everyone in the industry.

The names were just sold and I am quite sure they will not remain on parking pages over the next few months.

And yes quite full of myself LOL. Worked my ass off on end user marketing and reach out for this auction and it paid off again this year!

Forget the haters. Sure, auctions are not what they were 10 years ago but they never will be again probably. You did well. I really don’t understand the criticism.

I don’t understand it either. Why such negativism? Congratulations to the buyers, sellers, and brokers.

      Good stuff man!

Anyone that doesn’t think big sales drive things forward in a good way for everyone should really not be investing into domain names.

        March 2, 2018 at 6:33 pm

You’re delusional Kara you think that the sale of a name like super.com benefit someone owning emoji domains or country code names or three word EMD’s in.com?

        Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!

        • Bill Kara says

          March 2, 2018 at 7:33 pm

You are correct, If you own emoji domain you need to look to the big guy upstairs not Monte for help on that one lol

            March 2, 2018 at 11:47 pm

You picked the weakest example I listed. It doesn’t help people owning many classes of .com names. It helps the small group of premium generic one word owners. Good for them but the trickle down economics is pure bs.

And once again the community of domainers drank the Kool-Aid being served to them, and declared what nice clothes the emperor has on, while ignoring the reality of how extremely lowball and undervalued the trumpeted triumphant sale price announcements were. And they went on their merry way…

And some more terrible news….LOL https://morganlinton.com/breaking-esports-com-sells-for-7-figures/

IMO super.com @ $1.2M and great.com @ $0.9M were win-wins for the buyers and sellers, and which do impact positively on the market for other killer generic dotcoms – congrats Monte.

There were also some very awesome buys of commercial names such as this quad:
    bodyguards.com $29.5K
    dancelessons.com $23K
    weddingphotos.com $14K
    ridingboots.com $2.9K

There are soo many morons in the domain space these days. Guys that have never accomplished a single thing in their lives, yet find the time to hate on those that do succeed.

As for Monte: he’s one of the few brokers who actually pounds the pavement and does the hard reach-out work keep driving the jealous losers crazy, Monte!

Super.com were best domain in auction. Truly one of a kind domains. Opportunity to buy will probably not arise again for long time. Congrats to buyers and sellers assuming they close.

  12. John says

    March 3, 2018 at 2:52 pm

Seriously you guys, Kool-Aid and the emperor’s new clothes are as fitting analogies as it gets. You don’t see the likes of Rick Schwartz or Mike Berkens or any other great industry luminaries in here joining the chorus about those prices for those two particular great domains, and I seriously doubt you will, except perhaps one lesser luminary I might guess is possible. But even if you did they would still be wrong. Nobody’s “hating” on anybody, but some of us simply aren’t drinking any Kool-Aid today. I don’t fault the sellers either since they could have had plenty of reasons to rather sell then hold. Those are simply not great prices for those domains, plain and simple, just like what happened with LA.com (though not even within a thousand miles as bad as that one) and Black.com, for instance. It’s looking more and more like a good thing I made a point of acting to prevent anything similar or worse regarding Poker.com, however, even though the owner seemed perhaps already savvy enough anyway, and notwithstanding any claims to the contrary about why it really didn’t go down a similar road…yet.

I don’t think anything wrong with buying a domain names, many of the investors like to invest with domain names. Short or meaningful names have values. Best wishes to all the investors. Mujahid Bakht.

The Super.com domain sale caught our attention, considering we own SuperFC.com which is marketed as “Super Football Club”.

Anyway, congrats to the seller and the NameJet team on the sale!
