September 19, 2017 by Raymond Hackney

Uniregistry put out a press release that breaks down the first 8 months of 2017.

The company is having a solid year with over $29 million in sales on their marketplace.

The number of transactions increased by more than 24% over the same time period in 2016.

Average sale prices since 2011 have seen steady gains year over year, with 2017 showing some signs of moderation as the average prices dropped marginally for the first time ever to $8,017 USD per domain down from $9,110 USD.

I wonder how many were Frank’s domains and how many were client domains?

Many need to not be clients.

      15% commission on $29 Million = $4,350,000
      $8 renewal on 700,000 .com’s = $5,600,000

WTF does this have to do with Uniregistry, why is this off topic posting crap allowed?

Get a grip, VR. They know I sometimes make side notes of importance. Or sometimes just good humor. And that is an important topic for everyone, sooner or later. More like sooner. It’s this simple:

off topic + crap = crap

off topic + value and importance = value and importance

        Get the picture?

(Also known as, serious stuff that is sometimes happening under a rock while most of the world goes about its business.)

P.S. If it helps any, normally I preface such things with something like “This is just a side note…” but this time for the first time in a while I didn’t. I’ll probably make a point of resuming that if the opportunity arises, but these are rare to begin with and people know I don’t overdo it at all. And that is some heavy serious stuff, btw.

And as far as the topic goes, btw, just saw a partial list at DI and I was very surprised by how horrible a lot of the domains were relative to the price. Someone managed to get some great prices, but machines.com went for a steal.
