.Store turns 1 an illustrated look back

June 15, 2017 by Raymond Hackney

.Store has reached it’s one year anniversay, Radix (a sponsor here) published an infographic taking a look back.

STORE already boasts of 25+ leading brands that are using their .STORE domain name actively. From global players like www.emirates.store to known brands in the sports & entertainment industry like www.f1.store, www.dudeperfect.store, www.backtothefuture.store and www.nba.store, the TLD has seen organic usage early in the lifecycle of the extension.

Outside of these brands, the .STORE gTLD has some more interesting usage stats (courtesy namepulse.com)

16,000+ domains actively used
63% of developed sites are in English, followed by 9%in Chinese
17,000+ sites are SSL enabled
40,000+ MX records added
15+ pages on an average on developed. STORE websites

It does seem like most action in .store is being done with the registry, the are only 3 reported sales on Namebio currently,

athleisure.store 1,000 USD 2017-05-24 Flippa
lgbtq.store 200 USD 2017-05-15 Flippa
chromebook.store 150 USD 2017-02-27 Sedo

Disclaimer: The author of this post currently owns 0 .store domains, Radix the owner of the .store extension is an advertiser on TheDomains.com.

Only about 16K .store registrations comes from USA (country with over 324MM people), about 2K from UK.
To sum up, the .store has no awareness in countries where domain market is the strongest.

Sorry to be pedantic but the headline should probably read,

‘.Store Turns One. An Illustrated Look Back.’

Only had a look as I couldn’t make sense of it 🙂
