I was going to admonish the DomainKing for buying BraAndPanties.com for $1,000 SOLD, then I check DomainingIndex.com for appraisal, and they had it thusly:

    braandpanties.com information
    domain: braandpanties.comBIG
    appraised value: 4,400 USD
    domain birthday: 30-Jan-1999
    age: 18 year(s)

I was surprised; the king knows his stuff.

wow, thank you Raymond I get lost in these Twitter threads.

Some great names and some wtf were they thinking names.

  3. Rich says

    April 30, 2017 at 4:49 pm

None of these names strikes me as a winner where you buy it for x amount and sell it for 10 x more or 100 x more.

I agree. As supposed domainers we should all be pretty embarrassed if these are the best names we could offer up for the challenge. We have lots of bad domain name speculators in our midsts. Lots of us need to go back to the drawing board and start over complete if this is the best we can do.

I don’t think it’s the best, I think in most of these type posts people put up names they really don’t care about, they want to move stuff they are bored with, I know many have expressed that sentiment to me over the years.

There were some good names on that list, Kathy.com,Maj.com, Stuffed.com, Krispy.com, CurrencyQuote.com etc…

The pricing was probably not the best for Rick on the top names, but plenty of similar names that are average on that list sell on Sedo each week. The brandables find the perfect buyer, if someone posted Snappa.com at $40,000 I don’t think any of our readers would have been looking to buy that and many would have commented it was overpriced. The startup who was the perfect buyer, paid $40,000.

I do agree there were a lot of bad names, but it costs nothing to tweet a name at someone and hope to get lucky. One person sold another name that Rick would have never bought but got lucky another person on Twitter liked the name.

Yes, a few, very few… however domainers trying to sell to domain investors at end user prices… Priceless.

That’s been going on for at least 15 years. Rick is a big boy he knew what he was asking for and was totally fine with it.

You miss the fact that the one name he did buy was bought as an end user.

Would love it if @DomainKing would suggest the best places and tips to sell and best way to list them in what is an over saturated market.
    Information beyond the typical listing.

ThTs simply your opinion pretty sure Rick gives zero fucks what anyone else thinks. Last 20 years have proved that.

    I am :
    Hatred.com
    Womenssunglasses.com
    Storageway.com
    Sharie.com

What the hell – it was fun!

  8. Dn Ebook says

Why would the Domain King buy Domain Prince …….. does he have a son?

  9. Rich says

    April 30, 2017 at 8:47 pm

    Fun?…. That’s a different story.
Can you sell Hatred for $250,000 ? no you can’t $25k yes
    Womenssunglasses.com – $2500 YES BUT NOT $25K etc…

From what i got to know about Rick ,he buy to sell minimum 10x the purchased price.
I have not read all he’s tweets but i bet you he did not buy any from the above list.
The best deal i see here is RecycleTrash.com $3,000 i could be worth $30k to an and user.

BraAndPanties.com for $1,000 SOLD is a good buy but worth $25k at the most.

  10. Rick says

I believe the prices on the domains above are far too aggressive for lack of better words.

I would not want most of them for half of the asking prices.

However I think many domains would like to look at lists everyday of domains for sale and their
price. There are two many sites and too many domains.
If someone could coordinate a daily list many people would subscribe. Maybe 20 sites could contribute
5 domains a day that they feel are fairly price to the list. Would anyone want this?

    Raymond,

Thanks for putting this list together. I had missed a few names. Not a stellar list to buy from. There are a few gems, but certainly a good list to review to generate ideas around to create similar or greater value domains available at hand reg (possibly).

I didn’t submit any domains to the King for review.

    Did he acquire a batch?

    • Raymond Hackney says

      May 1, 2017 at 4:47 pm

As far as I know Steve, only my name BraAndPanties.com was sold.

  13. EM@QUE.com says

    Thank you Raymond.
    I own Krispy.com and MAJ.com

Some Commenters are envy or nothing to sell 🙂
    Sad.
