What is the best domain you have ever owned ?

Someone asked me the other day what was the best name I ever owned ?

I said I would have to think about it, best as far as liquid value ? In brandability ? The highest sales price ?

So I figured I would have everyone post their best name and if they still own it. I can say I don’t any of the names in the running for my best.

      1. My company owns some 2L.com domains too, as do other regular TheDomains.com blog commenters. (But, this blog post was just asking about the *single* best domain, so I didn’t post them above.)

  11. Its difficult to answer because the domain portfolio is full of Best ones, but as many people already know the domain: TRUMPDYNASTY.COM is going to pay off soon or later! So far, I still own this Billion dollar domain. 😀

  20. I’ll just pull one. http://www.Payments.digital every payment in the world will be digital at some point. One of the best if not one of the most important domains in the new gtld space. In the right hands of a company working in payment processing and security…it will be hard to beat this one. Our portfolio is full of many.

    1. Curious – how did you come by that one originally? Is it under nda or can you disclose the sale? Do you publish your whole list?

  26. So I’ve only been actively involved in domain for a little over a year, so my disclaimer is that I don’t have the 2L and 3L dot coms or killer one words like some of the people above.
    My best so far is GospelChannel.com. I still own it. I actually bought it for my church or to develop it, but I have it up for sale now. Hopefully one day BET will look my way (LOL) since they own BETGospelChannel.com. Oh well! We’ll see

  30. I’ve sold a few great ones over the years – and have developed a couple – but I think my personal favorite one is Hologram.com.

  31. I was interested in .info when news first came out about its release, and picked up Knowledge.info around 2002. I thought it was a great marriage of both sides of the dot, and envisioned that it could one day develop into something like what Wikipedia eventually became. I sold the domain about 10 years later. Not sure that I have a favorite.

    As far as new gtld’s, one space I like is .business. And a favorite in particular is Miami.business.

  52. Is it true Google is trying to replace .com with .xyz? Why? And if so, anybody can purchase anything. Since Google is the only search engine that doesn’t rank the dot com, what’s going to happen to the internet? Lol. It’s crazy. Dot com made the internet. It can’t be changed. Maybe added but the dot com will always have to be first. That’s what I think.

    1. I think Google is over doing it . The dot com should always be ranked withen the 1st or 2nd page of the search ( no matter what information is inside ). The name should rank itself. That’s the purpose why we buy and name the domain isn’t it? How will it look if you bought a Dot come domain for chocolate.com. and ppl can’t even find your page because it’s all in the back? That won’t make sense.
