TheWrap.com has an exclusive interview with the owner of the domain name TrumpTv.com; Hollywood entrepreneur Fernando Escovar.

Mr. Escovar told TheWrap that he bought the domain name back in 2004, and “totally forgot I owned it; Then, all of a sudden, traffic began to go crazy and I realized what was going on.”

“We’ve seen our traffic go from about 150,000 people to 1.3 million in just the last couple of weeks”

Escovar, owns several entertainment sites including FabTV.com, also has a few card-game websites.

“Trump is a term used in Bridge,” Escovar said. “I wasn’t even thinking of Donald Trump.”

Mr. Escovar went on to say “I’ve sold a bunch of domains over the years and so I know how much they’re worth” and this one is priced at $3 million.

Although not covered in TheWrap.com story, the domain name Trump.TV is owned by a Chris Thurman of Bridgeport who has owned it since at least 2013.

This is not a political blog, the number of complaints on these off topic comments has been noted. They have been deleted. So please keep to the topic of the post.

    Thank you

The comments were deleted and trash emptied, if you would like to repost a comment that’s germane to TrumpTV.com without any political bias feel free, if not well I don’t what else to say.

    Frank

Certainly your right; our twitter feed is separate from the blog itself and has always contained re-tweets about business, internet news other things I find interesting.

Just to note that our followers have continued to go up through the election.

Good news two weeks to go and the politic Tweets will stop.

I unsubscribed to you as well. Censorship was the final straw.

I read the comments between you and that max fellow, not sure that was censorship, you two hijacked the conversation and violated the comment policy.

who is starting thepolitics.com ? why should we have to read your political dribble ?

          @Frank,

Discussing the end user’s budget (i.e. Trump’s wealth) and his litigiousness as a UDRP risk – that violates the comment policy? That was my initial comment, which has been erased.

From there the conversation took a tangent, I agree. But conversations do that. It’s absurd to write articles about a controversial presidential candidate barely a week away from a national election and then act surprised when the conversation moves toward that candidate.

We’re off on a tangent right now – having a meta discussion about the discussion. Technically, this too violates the comments policy because it’s “off topic”. Should your comment and mine also be erased?

If it takes off this one goes to UDRP, and with his new found fame, nobody will want to be the person who voted against it in UDRP.

The seller should be lucky to get 10% of their ask.

The “Trump” brand was positioned to signify luxury, affluence, exclusivity.

But the “Trump” brand is now embraced by a down-market: a customer/user base that can’t afford to spend a night at “Trump” tower.

Rebranding already has begun: SCION to supplant TRUMP as a luxury brand.

IVANKA will be dropping the “TRUMP” from future products.

Will there be a TRUMP TV, a variation of what is already broadcast from TRUMP TOWER?
Possibly, but if so, you can be sure Trump’s IP counsel will go full throttle to acquire TRUMPTV.com through UDRP or any other legal recourse.

asking $3 million for TRUMPTV.com : hey, why not. Maybe a Russian oligarch will buy it and gift it to the Donald.
