Google’s parent company, Alphabet’s tech incubator, Jigsaw just launched another website on a new gTLD.

Unfiltered.News which is described as a “new experiment at Google which many of you may enjoy, a site which analyzes news feeds from around the world, and tells you which news stories are most missed by the media where you live. From there, you can see how these stories are being covered around the world, and know what you’re missing”.

“Though the Internet provides us access to a nearly unlimited number of sources for news, most of us rarely venture beyond the same few sources or topics”

This is still a tool in beta and at the moment does not seem to be operating properly.

According to hyperorg.com, who seems to have gotten a look at the site when it was working says

“Unfiltered.news visualizes on a map the top topics in countries around the world. Click on a topic — all of them are translated into your langue — to see how it’s trending in different localities. Use a slider to go back in time. It’s all very slick and animated.

Best of all, it automatically shows you the topics that are not trending in your region. That makes it more MultiFiltered than Unfiltered, but that’s actually what we want.”

I said “Unfiltered.news works” so I already knew it worked. The point was that a company like google should make sure the www. works as well.

Thanks. No translation is better than 99.9% correct translation IMO.

It resolves if i take off the “www” but there is nothing there but a zoom in/out +/- (Im assuming for the map) and a link to jigsaw at the bottom of the page.
