The new gTLD .Wang gained some 90,000 new domain registrations in the last day or so and over 160,000 new domain registrations since October 17th which is an increase of 50%

According to Registered.Today  .Wang gained more than 90,000 new domain registrations yesterday.

According to ntldstats.com, the number of .Wang domain registration has grown from 285,000 on October 17th to over 445,000 on October 19th an increase of more than 50%.

.Wang has now become the third most registered new gTLD behind .XYZ and .Top.

I took A quick look, well as quick as you can look at 90,000 domain registrations and most if not almost all seem to be coming though the Chinese domain registrars, which I’m told are running specials for around 9 RMB, but just for three days, which is just over $1 per domain.

As you might expect a ton of the registrations are numbered domains up to 8 numbers deep as well as a ton of four and five letter domain names.

You can see all 90,000 domain registered yesterday at RegisteredToday.com for a few more hours until their site updates.

Top three out of hundreds is simply great. I hope .CLUB regains its position as one of the top three.

some things just don’t make sense. Will someone please pop china’s credit bubble, so this madness can finally end!

If China’s bubble gets popped, .COM is heavily exposed. But the effects won’t be seen in the TLDs until the renewal phase.

4 Trillion on the books at the FED and you critise China which has real growth, which is absolute terms is still at very high levels. OK, smaller percentage of much bigger cake. The US growth is pretty much fake and credit driven which is why the FED has been dragged kicking and screaming to end QE expansion and increase rates. The QE will only be over once all those bonds have matured. It could take decades. As for the interest rate, well the economy is so strong that half a percentage point increase is going to throw it off a cliff.
Get your own problem fixed first and then worry about China.

Real growth…ha. You call ghost cities “real growth.” They just did what the US did with real estate, just 100x worse. You think 4 Trillion is bad…you aint seen nothing yet!

Intriguing. Guess we’ll have to see how much of a resale market there is. The hand-reg price is hard to argue with, though.

This is called Pump and Dump, the Chinese are very creative and are masters of market manipulation.

Kudos for giving them credit Michael, you obviously have no right-sided motivation!

How about pointing out the business model is a carbon copy of .com and all of these are nothing but pump and dumps!

I have no business dealing whatsoever with .Wang people, they are not even an advertiser

For the record I don’t own a .wang, but not sure if I like how that sounds in retrospect.
