Former Adult Site VS.com Is The 3rd Reported Two Letter .Com Domain Sale Today

October 14, 2015 by Michael Berkens

The domain name VS.com appears to have sold.

The domain name was registered to a VS Media, Inc. of Calabasas, California until a couple of months ago when it went under privacy at Godaddy.  However the servers did not change and the domain was registered at Godaddy while it was owned by VS Media, Inc.

VS.com as recently as 2006 was an adult site Video Secrets according to Screenshots.com

More recently the domain was used to sell Customized Live Video Web Communication

The domain name’s whois information updated on October 1st and the new owner is Wang Yong of China

Earlier today we wrote about the two letter domain name PT.com which was for sale and is now owned by according to one reader someone associated with 4.cn.

DomainGang.com reported earlier today that the domain name NR.com was sold and the seller rebranded to a new gTLD Numerical.Recipes.

According to our good friend George Kirikos Chinese registrants now own 128 of the 676 two letter .com domain names. 381 two letter domain names are owned by USA registrants.

Pretty amazing Victoria’s Secret didn’t step up to the plate to buy the domain, maybe there didn’t know it was for sale, but I would not be surprised to see them own that domain in the future.

Media Options brokered the sale of NR.com but I’m unfortunately not at liberty to disclose the sale price.

Andrew, who (seller or buyer) wish to keep price private?

I heard from a solid source that it was much lower than the seller was hoping to get.

If things continue like this, Chinese may own more than 50% of premium domains in 2-3 years.

power seems to be shifting from west to east.

gtld space seems to be 100% different.. I own 7 ll.be (Belgium) and 1 ll.co.uk domains, and up to this point market can’t care less (there aren’t even low-ball offers).

.. just sharing my 5 cents 🙂 .. I know that’s not a lot when compared to portfolios of Big guys, but still a different perspective on the same topic (more or less).

keep up the great job, Michael!
    be well,
    H
