it was said in the argentine press that they will also be seeking boca.com as well.

Peñarol, where have you read that? on which Argentine newspaper?
That’s interesting, since we are currently representing both the owners of BOCA.com and BOCA.net.
Obviously “BOCA” is a generic term, which also means “mouth” in Spanish.
Serious tangible offers for these two ultra-premium names are always welcome.

        hi Andrea,
look up Messi + Rosario + Boca …
yes, boca means mouth in both spanish and portuguese ( bocca in italian ) .. but it also
alludes to the team and the stadium ( eze ) .. it seems there is an upcoming documentary or
film of some kind, involving a famous derby Messi played long ago, when he wasnt so famous yet …
maybe that’s a lead. but even if not congrats, as you could probably sell that without Messi, to Boca JR directly maybe ..
        best,

Good luck with taking Boca .com which is used for Palm Beach / Boca Raton. There’s no reference to soccer whatsoever in its use.

Mr Messi has a lot of money to throw around and filing a UDRP is not a big deal, but is it the proper avenue to get the domain?

I participated in the auction of the domain Messi.com a couple years ago and I lost. The final sale price was around $3,000 and I though it was cheap for the traffic it was to generate. Soon-Later I noticed that the new owner was profiting from Lionel Messi’s image, and I wonder why it took too long for Lionel to file URDP. If I had won the domain, I would use it for non-Lionel or soccer related advertisement. I will follow up with this URDP, but I believe the now owner is doomed. Let’s see if he can get away of this one, good luck!
