Donuts does not run its own back-end; rather, they use Rightside for back-end. Rightside still has more domains than CentralNic.

They luck out having .xyz on-board, otherwise 7th spot.

ntldstats.com has always had separate stats for donuts and for rightside, I’m just reporting what they have

So you can remind ntldstats that they counting it wrong them…

… although it’s useful to have a Donuts object to sum up their domains, as they use a plethora of companies. But on an apples to apples comparison, Centralnic need to be compared to Rightside.

As an alma mater of CentralNic, I’m proud.

    🙂

Reporting on bad facts… Rightside and Donuts and Ari as far as I know are the same backend.

ARI is a different back-end from Rightside. At this time Neustar has two back-ends: its own and ARI’s, and it’s unclear if they will consolidate.

Rubens is correct. Donuts uses Rightside as their backend provider and thus the apples-to-apples comparison is Rightside to CentralNic.

Press Releases are not widely known for precision, notably when they can quote independent sources that got it wrong, even when the company doing the PR knows better.

Donut is definitely the engine room of new gTLDs.
