.XYZ’s Daniel Negari Is So Done With .Com He Put His Own Last Name Up For Sale: Negari.com

July 19, 2015 by Michael Berkens

It’s no secret that the Founder of .XYZ Daniel Negari has gone all in on being a new gTLD registry operator as he continues to shed his .Com holdings.

Just to show how done Negari is with .Com he has put up his the. Com domain of his last name up for sale on Namejet.com at no reserve, Negari.com which is being forwarded to XYZ.com

I reached out to Daniel when I saw the domain name in NameJet.com pre-release who confirmed it was his domain name and he did in fact put it up for sale, because he simply doesn’t want it anymore.

Obviously some of the buyers of the Negari.com domain name may use it to criticize Daniel personally or his domain registries (.XYZ is just one of which Negari either owns outright like .College and .Rent or has interest in like .car, .cars & .Auto) without having to spend the $250 to buy Negari.sucks

I have owned Berkens.com for a long time and found it very useful as an email address, and would never consider selling it nor would I let it out in the wild.

Of course Daniel is not the only Negari in the world and there are some Negari’s or other site’s that may want to use Negari.com.

I even found a site built out on a new gTLD, negariluwak.coffee which says “Negari Coffee”  is “perhaps the most exquisite and rare coffee in the world”.   (There is even a TripAdvisor entry for Negari Coffee)  How ironic would it be if this company bought the domain and then moved from the .coffee to the .com? By the way as of publication Negari.Coffee is not registered.

For the record Mr. Negari does not own the domain name DanielNegari.com. That domain was registered in 2009 and is owned by WorldInternetAuthority.com whose site says it can not “be copied or duplicated in any way or form”. The site goes on to warn that “if any person is found to have used information from this site, they will be reported to the World Internet Authority (WIA)” which of course is the owner of the site. Other than the warning a some sort of logo the site contains no other information so I have no idea of what they are talking about.

Negari.com was registered back in 2003 and is currently in pre-release at namejet.com and there are still over 19 days left to put in a backorder.

As of publication there are 2 backorders, well make that 3 now as I will backorder it to follow the auction and let you know the results

Its prerelease meaning he will let it go to auction, see what the value/price is sold and and renew it within the 45 days.. This is just another marketing tactic used, not a real offer to sell but good story to publish to get press. Nice move but again, infrastructure value built upon sand not stone.

Chad, we are thinking along the same lines. It’s just a marketing gimmick.

At least it’s not another nj auction backorder which could bear fruition in 11 months etc.

    so chad
I say with or without the publicity probably 50 backorders.
but because of the publicity it will sell for $500 vs. the $69 minimum.

but in the end you have to hand it to most of these non dot com registries who have figured out a way to make a buck off of speculators

When is he selling xyz.com ? I’ll gladly take it off his hands.

Yes Bram, that is a nice question you asked, selling his XYZ.COM should be the main
prove to show to the world that he has really done with dot com.

I will end up in his control , no matter who buys it , or what it sells for his people will be making the final bid , cheap publicly! Good marketing . And it will sit safely parked forever .

The real challenge would be to sell XYZ.com
Let’s see it Daniel. It’s pretty much worthless right?

    RE: WorldInternetAuthority.com

That’s the insane Nazi guy that has pulled all kinds of stunts, Jeff Geaney.
look up the nonsense he tried regarding SS.com
There’s an old thread over at DomainState somewhere that details the whole sordid mess.
Moral of the story? If he’s involved, you don’t want to be.

Do not believe “Negari” would sell the family (line) name. The hereditary family surname (dot) com mail address is one I treasure.

If Mr Negari really wants to show us that he is done with .com, he should list Negari.com for $100.

  12. Michael Berkens says

    July 20, 2015 at 10:40 am

    SoFree

He listed it for $69 (namejet.com starting price) with no reserve

I don’t know what your talking about

    • Ramahn says

I think he means BIN. As in $100 sedo BIN, first one takes it, end of story. Not some auction that will end with the name being back in his possession.

I couldn’t see myself dumping .com for any new extension. If I were to be that bold don’t think .xyz would be anywhere near the top of my list as a replacement.

  14. Michael Berkens says

    July 20, 2015 at 4:20 pm

Daniel is not going to go into his own auction and bid on this domain.

I see VERY few domains at BIN on namejet.com why the hell would he do that anyway, just because you don’t want something anymore doesn’t mean you should just give it away or sell it for the least amount possible
