Dot London Releases Great Video With Real Life Success Stories Using a .London Domain

July 16, 2015 by Michael Berkens

dotlondonindexA great video has been posted by the the Dot London registry that features interviews with real registrants of .London domain names talking about why they generally traded in their .com or .co.uk domain name for a .London domain and how its helped their businesses.

Many of the people interviewed chat about how a .London address helped their business get a higher ranking on Google.

The Video is entitled Your City.  Your Domain.

It’s a video that any Geographic new gTLD registry could use to show their residents why they should own a domain name in their city’s new gTLD.

This is the key takeaway IMO – “….. how a .London address helped their business get a higher ranking on Google.” The magic of logical ROTD extensions in a keyword dot keyword world despite what Google Search team might say officially.

People still don’t know.. around the world, I’d say well over 90% have no clue.

I suppose these GEO extensions could help with SEO, but then so many extensions (,CO, .ME, .IT, .TV) have acquired secondary meaning and really primary brand value.

I thought .web would have value, but it’s really superfluous., even though .com signifies commerce.

The real value, based on trust, will be those that belong to the entities: .Barclays, .Google, .Facebook, etc — and of course, these will be of no use to domain investors, nor will they become available to domainers.

I’m sure there will be many scams created by individuals who use the .Amazon extension, as Amazon.com could not secure it.

I’ll wager we will see a few more stock manipulations like this week’s Bloomberg.market, and this will cause more problems for the GTLDs.

People will say this is a long term investment, maybe 5 years.

I’ll be surprised if domains will have much value beyond 5 years, as almost everything will be an interface with the IOT. But let’s see.

Couldn’t agree more with your comment. Great video. Perhaps this is Howe the .LA experience will be communicated. 🙂 Thanks for sharing. !
