Better Buy for $20,500 VapeClub.com or MovieQuotes.com?

July 15, 2015 by Michael Berkens

Two domain names just crossed the Sedo.com sales wire info in the last hour, with both selling for the same price of $20,500, VapeClub.com and  MovieQuotes.com

So the question is what is the better buy?

In the case of VapeClub there is an alternative Vape.club

The domain name Vape.club is for sale at DomainNameSales.com

The Vape industry is huge and hot and seems to be getting hotter but is subject to changes by federal law.

MovieQuotes.com is an obviously a high search term but with no product attached to it.

Vapeclub.com has an Alexa ranking of 22 Million but MovieQuotes.com has an Alexa ranking of 378K and a Google Page Rank of 5 so probably gets a lot more traffic than VapeClub.com

VapeClub because you can start your own store and make a sweet ROI.

I want to say moviequotes.com, but vaping is definitely hot right now. Vapeclub.com, though? Idk. There are certainly better vaping domains out there. I think I’m going to have to go with moviequotes.com.

I’d pick VapClub as well. Vaping is an addiction while MovieQuotes is a hobby.

If you want run web site moviequotes.com.
But If you want just invest domain, it’s vapeclub.com because it’s more commercial.

MovieQuotes.com … because movie quotes. Could be a UGC oriented business and almost hands off at some point. AdSense money rolling in like thunder. Besides, vaping… meh.

How about going with Vape.Club and saving about $20,000? Just kidding, in actuality, that would be a really dumb move and only help the guy who buys the .Com, just like Paul Allen is about to discover with his .fish acquisition when you cut off his cajones. Of the two, I’d go with VapeClub.Com.

VapeClub.com makes no sense as a movie quote site, and I daresay MovieQuotes.com would be a lousy name for selling vape paraphernalia.

In terms of retail prices, VapeClub.com is more of a surprise at $20.5k than MovieQuotes.com is. Both are too high for wholesale domainers.

So I guess it comes down to which project you’re rather work on personally. For my part, I could happily spend a decade polishing MovieQuotes.com; but I’d lose interest in a vape website before I even got started.

VapeClub.com makes a useful comp for domains I own, though.

It’s true that 20K for each is a bit high for domain investors.

Neither. Plain and Simple. I have hand registered over 100 brandable dot COMs for a $ each, in the recent months. Why would anyone pay such premiums for generics that have little potential content or commerce wise, even if the Vaping fad were to grow from here, is beyond me (of course except when I am the seller :))

Sridhar Raj, I would agree as pure domain name investment, they may not worth the going price. However, if the name was bid by end users, both are worth the amount. I’m slightly partial to Vape Club, only because I have helped re-launch an e-sig e-commerce website and I know how much revenue can be rolling in very quickly.

Vaping is blowing up and it’s good to see that domain selling for so much, but IMO VapeClub is not a common phrase, I’ve actually never heard it. Vapor bar yes, but vape club not so much, so not sure how good of a name it is, but still a better buy than moviequotes because at least there’s commercial potential behind it. As far as vape.club no thanks

@Winston Thanks, I would like to know more. Honestly earlier this year is when I heard of the trend and I was like “Vaping what? ” Do you see any potential in developing these names I own? I would like to connect and discuss them:
