Verisign announced today the winners of the 2nd month of the Verisign .Com contest and has awarded $5,000 in prizes.

KidsCookDinner.com Registered March 26th 2015 is an active site already a website is blog that encouraging kids to cook and eat healthy dinners.

LastSecondFlights.com was registered February 3, 2015.

SeniorBride.com was registered on March 1, 2015

SkinnyLa.com was registered on March 5th 2015

SoldiersOnly.COM was registered on January 28,2015

Unfortunately as one of the judges of the contest I cannot tell you the domain names that were submitted to the judges that did not win, but I will say there were another 5 domain names that were as good as the one’s selected in my opinion and 17 of the 20 were domains that would have sold in the aftermarket.

All of the domains were hand registered meaning the were available to be registered for normal .com registration fees.

Month two submissions in my opinion were miles better than the 1st months providing that not all the good .com are registered and gone.

Congrats to all the winners!!

If .com is global.. why limit the contest to the US only ?

      The simplest answers are…

      1) US centric mentality (most common reason provided)

      2) Competition regulations varying between geographical locations that could cause issues unless the appropriate legal waivers/permits are acquired.

i think you can still register domains that can be used and that are memorable. Here are a few that i found in 15 minutes. Now these are not great but almost free. If you are willing to spend some time and/or little money you can still get an OK URL IMO. It doesn’t take that much effort.
