.Green went though a long and winding road leading up to the launch of .Green and yesterday was the first day a .Green could be registered on a first come, first served basis otherwise known general availability.
After the first day of GA including those domain names registered by trademark holders in Sunrise and those who paid an extra fee to register in Landrush, there are 771 domain registrations.
The cost of a .Green registration is around $60 at Godaddy or about 7X the cost of a .com registration.
.Green does not have variable pricing but does seem to have plenty of reserved domains.
it seems the only way to get good numbers on the first days is to offer rock bottom prices ie 2 bucks or less.
I am curious how many of those 771 names they registered themselves.
These newTLDs become a joke.
wow – how did I miss out on this one.
The Green Day Band better get Day.Green – just to avoid confusion – yes ?
“The Green Day Band better get Day.Green – just to avoid confusion – yes ?”
No, you realize that’s backwards right? And Green Day already have GreenDay.com, why bother with inferior extensions when they’re already rolling with the best.
When you do bulk search at Name.com I see the price difference. Simply type in girl.green it shows taken but the price next to that is $6250.
Howmuch is Soylent.green?
ok phillip
you got me on that one 🙂
.green domain names do have variable pricing. There is a list of premium tiered names with 7 different tiers (each tier is a different price). These names are currently sold manually. domains.green is a .green reseller, and we have already sold premium names. If you’d like more information about tiered, premium priced names you can contact premiums@domains.green. I am sure the registry would also be happy to provide you with information as well.
The registry also has a list of registrars selling both regular and premium names here on their website: http://www.going.green/buy-green
