Amazon Wins New gTLD .Hot As Donuts & Secondgen.com Withdraw Their Apps

November 7, 2014 by Michael Berkens

Amazon has won the rights to the new gTLD .Hot as the other two applicants, Donuts and SecondGen.com withdrew their applications from ICANN’s site.

The new gTLD was probably settled by private auction.

It will be interesting to see what Amazon’s Plan for .Hot is.

Amazon’s application for .Hot does not really lay out a vision for the extension.

Seems on theme for their hardware line, kindle and fire, I wouldnt be surprised if it became their branded cloud domain.
