Cruise.Discount and Cruises.Discount Sells For $10,000

October 12, 2014 by Michael Berkens

The new gTLD’s Cruise.Discount and Cruises.Discount just sold in an auction on the site FreeMarket.com

The pair of new gTLD domain names were sold together in one lot for $10,005.

Here is how the description on the auction listing read:

“Cruise.Discount Cruises.Discount

I don’t have to tell you on how profitable the Cruise Industry is and how much Companies love Cruise Domains. Every time I was looking into booking a cruise, probably like anyone else, they searched around for a discount.

Provide a reassurance and a create brandable Domain in Cruise.Discount & Cruises.Discount.

I will sell both a bundle package.

Now, you cant loose out on that.

Besides being a great brandable domain, how many other great brandable Cruise Domain Names are readily available for developing with both singular and plural being available?

Now is your chance.”

Nice sale.

That’s quite a decent sale, except we have no way of knowing if it’s a “verified, paid, and completed” transaction. I looked at the site, and I can’t call it.

I see that creditcard.com.br has met reserve at $ 149,005 USD, with 16 days to go, with only 2 bids, but strangely the “Buy Now” price is $151,500. So you tell me, 2 bidders are gonna wait 16 days for a difference of $2500 on a $150,000 bid?

Unless the seller comes out and brag about about the sale or the buyer confesses the transaction, then it is verified.
Other than that, all sales posted are considered “lips” service, bogus hype sales.

Correct no more than on any other auction site, when we or others report sales upon the ending of the auction

I don’t know, Berkens. You’ve gotta do a better job of venting, and verifying some of these claims…

    Bullshit!

Looking at archive.org the site Free Market looks crappy and in a totally different format on September 29, 2014. The archive for October 6, 2014 shows the site “brand new” and the way it is right now.

Seems to be an easy way to promote a new sales platform by posting a bullshit sale of a new GTLD. No dice guys. Like the Free Market domain name though.

      totally agree!!!

All sales are BS bogus unless the seller or the buyer come out and confess and just say,,,

under oath, yes I did sell that domain but due to NDA, I cannot mention the price but I did sell the domain.

That all I need to hear from the horses’ mouth.

We can find out the rightful owner of the house transaction-seller/buyer and how much the house was bought/sold

Why can’t the sales given by Sedo/Afternic publish the sell/buyer names and their contact info?

    It makes it more legit.

    Guys

Do you make the same comment on the daily posts about namejet, sedo and snapnames auctions that are reported as soon as they end?

I’ve called bs on the weekly Sedo sales reports on several posts.

    Doesn’t look legit to me.

I trust NJ sales stats, as they allow only verified bidders to bid above $2500.
