Freelancer.com Launches New Online Marketplace For Domain Names & Websites

September 4, 2014 by Michael Berkens

According to smartcompany.com.au, Freelancer.com, announced the launch of a new online marketplace for buying and selling websites and domain names.

“The marketplace, to be known as Freemarket, was originally part of an online internet marketing message board known as Warrior Forum, which was founded in 1997 and acquired by Freelancer.com.au in April of this year.”

“By separating the marketplace from Warrior Forum, Freelancer.com says in a statement it hopes to “leverage the consolidated wide-reaching user base”.

As with eBay, users hoping to sell through Freemarket will have the option to put their domain name or website up for auction, or offer it through a “buy-it-now” option for a fixed price.

Their site looks professional. But I did a keyword search and found zero results. Chicken and the Egg to get started selling domains when they don’t have much inventory to start with. Also a handful of pie-in-the-sky listings for what they have listed right now. Hopefully it becomes another good resource like Flipa.
