HA.com Live Domain Auction Is Thursday: Bitcoins.com; Bitcoin.Club; Digital.com; SEM.com

July 21, 2014 by Michael Berkens

The third Heritage Auctions domain event closes for online bidding Wednesday July 23rd at 10PM Central time.

The live auction is Thursday July 24th at 1PM Central time.

The live auction will be in Dallas, Texas, but you can bid online from anywhere in the world.

However please note that it appears you have to sign up for the “live” online bidding separately from the online bidding only, so if you want to bid online during the auction and have not qualified yourself to do so you need to do it now, here is the link to get a live online bidding account.

There are some great domain names in the auction and here are a few:

Bitcoins.com has a opening bid price of $750K

However if you into the whole Bitcoin thing but you don’t have or want to spend $750K or more,  than BitCoin.club can be had for a fraction.

Other interesting domain names in the auction include;

The 5th oldest domain name on the Internet DEC.com

Digital.com — also a great buy at the current price

Cute.com

SEM.com (Search Engine Marketing)

Watermark.com

Downline.com

Cain.com

Rides.com (includes Facebook page with 210,000 followers)

Plank.com

Lithograph.com

MintCondition.com

DWI.org

The auction has some nice Geo domain names including

SouthernCalifornia.com

    Jeff

Your comments are getting back to overwhelming in terms of number and underwhelming in terms content.

You are back to 1 comment a post and please see if it can make some sense and even be related to the topic and hand.

You’re last two above fail both tests

either he’s making fun of .COM extremist or has some form of OCD… and if its the latter i really dont want to pick on people with mental disorders its just one of the more extreme characters ive come across ever on the internet, that wasnt a troll. now my posts are underwhelming in terms of content. bleh

Are .club domains part of test and perhaps a strategy to sell new gtdls as well on HA!?

    • qua says

      July 22, 2014 at 11:49 am

I was just wondering, why not pick the BEST new gTDLs into auction as well. Some domains could not harm auction, but it would be appreciated not being added only from privileged people. If you offer 2 – you could offer them 10 as well 🙂

But this is where things clash together – shall we sell new domains – or not:)
I would like to see a hero, who will start auctions with new extensions:)
      Market will tell the truth..

ROTD.com and HA.com have an agreement to work together exclusively on new gTLD’s on HA

bitcoin.club is NOT even registered. To go to aftermarket whilst unregistered is a travesty of process.

Congrats on your agreement with HA!

  9. Michael Berkens says

    July 21, 2014 at 7:48 pm

    Bitcoin.club is a reserved domain.

Unlike some registries .Club does not registered reserved domains, if they did their numbers would be higher.

If you win the auction upon payment the domain will be pushed from the registry to the registrar of your choice.

    • Domenclature.com says

      July 21, 2014 at 11:09 pm

With all due respect, that’s six on one hand, and have a dozen on the other.
The issue that concerns me is the loophole left for Registries to sell unregistered domain names straight in the aftermarket without first registering the names, paying the associated icann fees etc, BEFORE selling them above nominal registration prices.

In short, ICANN is out of order; there needs to be an overwhelming oversight; there needs to be a retrospective audit here. Releasing thousands of extensions is VERY damaging to American business & commerce; allowing unregulated registries to go to town makes it even more untenable. I don’t see how this sustains.

      • Domenclature.com says

        July 21, 2014 at 11:10 pm

I’m sure even the most unscrupulous will catch the above typo (half a dozen, NOT have a dozen).

    • Domenclature.com says

      July 22, 2014 at 12:52 am

      @Berkens,

      I double-checked Bitcoin.club and here’s the response:

      Whois Record Not Available
      This domain is not registered.

Let me tell you now, I’m not going to sit idly-by while UNREGISTERED domain names are sold in the aftermarket. I’m putting you on notice Berkens. You’ve been playing a role that has been irking me from day one. I am going to boycott your blog, and I will be asking all domainers to do the same if you don’t pull this name from auction.

      • Domenclature.com says

        July 22, 2014 at 12:57 am

Ok the domain in auction is the plural, and it’s registered by the Registry. It’s still bad, but not as grave as selling unregistered names I guess. Therefore, I’ll keep watching. No action for now.

what a weird concern to have… they’re the registry. hellllllllllloooooo

  11. Michael Berkens says

    July 22, 2014 at 10:27 am

    Domen

You see to have lost your mind

    Bitcoins.com is in the auction

    Bitcoin.club is in the auction:

    http://domains.ha.com/itm/bitcoinclub/a/1120-83.s

Bitcoin.Club is owned by the registry.

When a registry, registers its own domains it goes into the totals and you guys don’t like it.

So if they just keep the domain on the reserved list and don’t register it, the domains don’t show up in the numbers but you don’t seem to like that either.

    • Domenclature.com says

      July 22, 2014 at 12:18 pm

      Bitcoin.club is not registered.

How can a Registry sell a name in aftermarket without first registering the name with ICANN, and paying the necessary fees, getting the name on record?

If this happens, I will be livid.

hasn’t lost his mind he’s just bored is the more likely explanation. i cant help but feel a little bit embarrassed and cringe when i read these kind of posts though. one of the more cringeworthy posts in the history of blog comments, if its for real.

    “im putting you on notice”

you know that only makes people laugh at you domen, nobody takes posts like that seriously it either makes them laugh or cringe. it sounds like this is just your current obsession and in a couple years you’ll move onto something else when finding a problem with everything in this topic burns you out. it just sounds like you dont have anything real to say and are extremely bored and im pretty confident you will look back at this sort of stuff in 10 years and see it for what it really was, boredom and trying to have an “important say so”

      ontheinterweb,

Keep watching; a battle is brewing between Berkens and I.

You will soon find out that I’m serious. I will boycott this blog, and ask most domainers to stay away from it.

All Berkens will be left with is you. Remember we did this just 9 months ago? Do you think your stupid comments can sustain a blog? get ready…

  13. Michael Berkens says

He has unsubscribed to the free subscription several times.

He has threatened not to return to thedomains.com on numerous occasions only to start engaging me on Twitter as well.

He might be waiting for a cash offer to leave

    • Domenclature.com says

      July 22, 2014 at 1:05 pm

How much are you offering? Anything greater than a red cent, and it’s a deal!

      • ontheinterweb says

        July 22, 2014 at 1:47 pm

you’re really overestimating the importance of your comments. everyone likes to be acknowledged but you’re sorta overdoing it.

a battle is brewing? nah man, nah..

just get drunk and stoned before you post on this blog, like i apparently do according to the grim reaper.

        • Domenclature.com says

          I don’t just comment. I do maths, I analyze, I reason, I think, I examine, I check, I scrutinize, I investigate, I vet, I test, I monitor, I survey, I study, I look over, I peruse, I scan, I explore, I probe, I appraise, I review, I audit…

Yet, I evaluate, judge, rate, gauge, review, consider…

In short, I’m extremely invaluable to a blog.

  14. Michael Berkens says

      • ontheinterweb says

        July 22, 2014 at 4:09 pm

no, we just need to put more current bloggers “on notice” and “convince others to boycott their blog”

        • Domenclature.com says

          July 22, 2014 at 4:20 pm

I was trying to tell Berkens that there’s no need for me to demote myself from a commentator to a blogger.

    July 22, 2014 at 4:18 pm

“”Just need to put more current bloggers “on notice” and “convince others to boycott their blog”

Then you will have no more blogs left

You guys already chased off Sahar, Frank and Rick from blogging do you feel like you know more know or are better off that they stopped sharing their knowledge?

    • Domenclature.com says

      July 22, 2014 at 4:25 pm

Now who’s going insane, and senile? Those quotes are from your alter ego.

      • ontheinterweb says

        July 22, 2014 at 4:29 pm

auh, he’s quoting me. i was being sarcastic though. anywho, i stopped commenting for a while because its the same old comments and i didnt feel like i was adding anything. a lot of the same old arguments in the comments section, no matter what the article is actually about..

…but .com will always be bigger.
…but there is no reason for change
..yeah but, look at the list of all these established .com companies..
..yeah but… yeah but.. yeah but

Domen, sometimes taking a step back and not evaluating every microsecond of whats going on is more helpful.
