.Christmas & .Blackfriday Just Launched & The Extensions Seem To Be Very Lightly Reserved

July 8, 2014 by Michael Berkens

Unregistry just launched .Christmas & .Blackfriday  and the registry seems to have reserved a very small amount of domains.

As usually we hunt and peck around for mostly every new extension either to register or to write about.

I was actually surprised to see how few domain names seeemed to be reserved by the registry and I would assume most of those are probably on the ICANN collision list.

Of course Merry.Christmas and Santa.Christmas and thenightbefore.christmas are reserved but going through a couple of hundred domains yesterday I ran into very few reserved domains.

As you can see some brands have grabbed their .Christmas domains and I’m going to go on record saying that .Christmas is going to be Uniregisty most registered new gTLD extension (not counting domains registered by North Sound) which I hope doesn’t occur until at least tomorrow so customers can have the first shot.

Interestingly there are some big brands who applied in Sunrise for just a .Christmas domain or just a .Blackfriday domain

Here are  some .Christmas domains registered in Sunrise:

amazon.christmas
autozone.christmas

just don’t bother trying country or city (at least state capitals, towns should be fine) as they are reserved by the registry, least the dozen or so I tried
