Bitcoin.me Sells For $10,000

January 2, 2014 by Michael Berkens

Just crossing the Sedo sales wire is the domain name Bitcoin.me which just sold for $10,000

The domain was registered in July 2010.

The buyer is Help.org and the domain is being forwarded to Millybitcoin.com

Bitcoin.biz sold for $2,800 in March 2013, Bitcoin.im sold for $1,500 in February 2013, Bitcoin.be sold for $1,950 in January 2013.

On the other hand Bitcoin.us sold for $17,500 in December 2012 and BitCoin.de sold back in June 2011 when a lot few people had every heard of it and it was trading for less than $10

So if anything I think the domain sold a little to cheap especially since the price of a Bitcoin has risen many times over since these other sales took place.

Bitcoin is currently trading around $750

I have hired a professional agency to launch bitcoin.me so that will be a separate site. This industry is wide, wide open like the Internet in 1992.

BTW- Tomorrow is the 5-year anniversary of the day the Bitcoin software launched and the first “block” (“The Genesis Block”) of the Bitcoin public ledger was recorded (“mined”) and shared via P2P software by the inventor, Satoshi Nakamoto. The value of Bitcoin at that time was $0.00.

Bitcoins.me was a great buy, good job Help.org! Maybe now you could do something more meaningful with the Help.org site, now that you have another one to dedicate to Bitcoins…
