Porn.XXX Ranks On 1st Page Of Google for Porn; Good News For New gTLD’s

December 24, 2013 by Michael Berkens

Well its taken a while but the bang on domain name Porn.xxx is has made it to the first page of Google for the search term “porn”.

As you might imagine, porn its one of the toughest terms to rank on the first page on, with millions of adult sites all trying to get in that position.

Interestingly with all the talk about how Google has lessened the importance of Exact Match Domains, 4 of the top 6 sites  ranking on the first page of Google under the search term porn have the word porn in the domain name:

PornHub.com

Youporn.com

Porn.com

Porn.XXX.

It goes to show you that bang on new gTLD domains will have a good chance of ranking well, with content and other factors equally weighted.

It will take sometime but all new gTLD operators will like these results.

.xxx is a good tld. Why? it is not really a part of the domain. Porn.xxx makes more sens than Pornxxx.com.
PornWebsites.com is better than Porn.websites. The coma means the end of the “phrase” and should not be used in the coma middle.

Hi, my name is coma Xavier

porn.xxx ranks 20th place for me on Google (last spot, second page).

PornHub.com ranks 1st for me, followed by youporn.com on second place.

Porn.com is on 7th place on my Google search, a lot better than porn.xxx.

I think “with content and other factors” is the important part. This is true of any extension. But quality “content” is the hardest part to do. There are tons of .COMs and other established TLDs in a wide range of categories that have had a headstart of a decade or more in that department.

Once all the gTLDs come out, it will be impossible for most to get on the first page, just as it’s impossible for most .COMs to be on the first page now. There’s only so much room, and you have to be among the best, and have a good number of other quality sites linking to you, while also having strong keywords.

By the way, Porn.XXX showed up #7 for me on the first page. That’s a strong keyword of course, as well as having plenty of links going to it. Most gTLD owners (or owners of .COM, .ORG, .NET, etc) won’t will be that fortunate.

As far as I know if you’re logged in to a Google service (for example gmail) then Google will filter results based on your browsing habits, in other words if you visited porn.xxx in the past a few times it may end up high in your search results, whereas other people who never visited porn.xxx will see the real search rank of porn.xxx.

After reading the couple of comments here, there may be some randomness to the algorithm, trying to give the better-known sites some more-or-less fairly equal exposure. Although PornHub.com appears to be the clear winner.

Curiously, Porn.XXX doesn’t even show up in the first 10 pages of Bing…

    @Bram

For me then, that’s not the case… in fact I block Google’s cookies from being placed on my computer. (As well as Bing.) I have only a very select number of sites I allow cookies from, and no third-party cookies, either.

You have to add “&pws=0” to the end to kill the personalized results. It does show up on the first page for me if I remove that. So it does seem like it’s legitimately on the first page.

It’s a fully developed adult site with an exact match keyword domain. Do those two things and you have a great shot at page 1.

Location also matters. Even with Safari in “private browsing” mode (which is a good way to test for unpersonalized results), going to google.com redirects me to local country Google, which then prefers local language content. porn.xxx appears nowhere here.

    Hello MHB,

Independent Marketing Analyst/Strategist at UseBiz.com / (.COM ) URL Centric Marketing

Our question is Why would any Smart Online Marketer use Googles Traffic Dilution Pool??

Only the DUMB ONLINE Marketers use Googles SEO Manipulated Search Engine Marketing.

Success often comes with a price, our advice pay the price upfront for Backend revenue success online.

The worst Marketing Advice is usually supplied by some Ad company guy with a power point pony show extolling the questionable benefits of naming your company a nonsensical or contrived name.

We see things very differently. 80% of your Marketing budget needs to be allocated to a well (Internally Branded) .COM Profit Center. The rest of the 20% should be held in reserve till absolutely needed. There is no rush to pay the Ad men unless needed. Remember 100s if not 1000s will be in a search engines line up. This Massive line up of your competitors causes an Online business to be lost in the shuffle. (Market Saturation Obsolescence) is steering the SMART money away from SEO Manipulated Search Engine Market in droves.

What many business owners are not told by their SEO manipulator friends, is this key boondoggle of SEO Manipulated Marketing , and it is this !

Your businesses most dreaded competitors are often on the same Search Engine page as your companies are and are just one Click away from you as a choice.

Now come on now, do you think this is Smart Marketing?

It may be smart for Google and their Symbiotic Partners, SEO manipulators ! But a very stupid choice for the business owner, We think.

This phenomonon can be TOTALLY, avoided by using Pure Play Direct Navigation .COM Generics,ONLY.

Seriously, the Smart Marketers are not swallowing Googles,SEO Manipulated Search Engine Kool-Aid here.

The Candid truth of this matter is the End-Users will find that Branding Internally, not Externally, through the use of a (Pure Play .COM site), will enjoy a residual recall response from Consumers at the Browser.

    OCCAMS RAZOR

Gratefully, Jeff Schneider (Contact Group) (Metal Tiger)

  19. Jeff Schneider says

Yes and the other 30% get total traffic utilization results.

You will never get the same page results in the (Google Traffic Dilution Pool) Google is the most Manipulated Marketing Medium ever devised. Do your homework, reread my comment above carefully, those who get the nuance will know where to invest their money from here on out. Cheers, happy Festivus.
