Twitch.TV Spun Off From Justin.TV Raises $20 Million

Allthingsd.com, is reporting that Twitch.TV “an online video network and gaming community, raised a $20 million series C round of funding.

“The round was led by Thrive Capital, with participation from WestSummit Capital and Take-Two Interactive Software, as well as existing investors Alsop Louie Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners.

“The company, which sees more than 45 million unique monthly visitors, will use the new capital to further scale its sales and infrastructure divisions.”

According to WSJ.com Twitch.tv  is a San Francisco-based company, which was spun off from Justin.tv

Roughly 30% of Twitch viewers are in North America, 35% in Western Europe, 10% in Eastern Europe, 13% in East Asia and the balance in South America and other regions.

Another tremedous company and brand built on a .TV domain name.

    Ha, I typed in Twitch, and accidentally wrote .COM instead of .TV. It seems I’m either not as incredibly brilliant as I humbly believe I am, or it’s just habit. Maybe both.

    On another note, while I learned from my mistake with Justin.TV, Justin.com is cool in its simplistic retro-ness. If you’re into that kind of thing.
