Genova.com Sells For $17K on NameJet.com

June 8, 2013 by Michael Berkens

The domain name Genova.com sold on NameJet.com yesterday for $16,998.

Genova is a city in Italy which  is “Sandwiched between the sea and the Ligurian hills, Genova spreads upwards from the port, a jumble of a city with a long and chequered history. The European Capital of Culture in 2004, Genova has dozens of museums and galleries, a renowned theatre, and the largest aquarium in Europe. The city has good shopping, the best nightlife in Liguria and excellent restaurants.” The population is 612,000.  The city is also known as just Genoa.

Genova is also a popular first name and last name and there seem to be a lot of businesses that start with the word as well.

In other notable sales at NameJet.com:

Xiong.com sold for $20,009 in an auction which saw 4 people battling it our for $10K or more.  Xiong is a popular surname in China.

The domain name alligators.com which was owned by Tucows.com sold for $9,999.

Another Tucows.com owned domain, scrambled.com also sold for $9,999.

For the domain name we tracked there were 2o domain names that were in auction that got bids but did not hit reserve and failed to sell.

A pair of three letter .com’s that were pretty close to each other went for a pretty close price:

qzg.com sold for $5,300

qtw.com sold for $5,399

iCup.com sold for $2,925 there are six live trademarks for the term in the USPTO.

As we pointed out earlier this week the domain name MUI.com another Tucows.com property sold for $24,999.

Finally Dice.org also owned by Tucows.com sold for $2,200.
