The Hottest Craze Is The Harlem Shake: Frank Schilling Knew About It Years Ago

March 2, 2013 by Michael Berkens

The hottest craze in pop culture the past few weeks is the Harlem Shake which is certainly this years, Gangnam Style.

If you Search YouTube for the Harlem Shake you’ll find more than 200,000 results.

Although the world has just woken up to the Harlem Shake Frank Schilling knew all about it at least 6 years ago.

According to DomainTools.com Frank Schilling’s Name Administration has owned the domain name HarlemShake.com since at least 2007 the oldest record domaintools.com has on file.

However the domain name was originally registered in 2001.

Actually the dance has roots all the was back to 1981.

Its pretty common for me to look up the domain name of a “brand new” trend or product only to see that domain was regsitered many years earlier showing that the great domainers are way ahead of the curve.

Frankly I’m not spending much time on domaining to see what others are writing about.

We all have our own audience, FB ad Twitter followers, subscribers to RSS feeds and loyal readers, so while I understand it maybe annoying for those that follow domaining.com religiously they may see the same story time and time again, personally that’s not my focus.

On the other hand when I do checkout domaining a few times a week, I see stories on subjects that I published weeks ago covered by another blogger, like its a new story, but I don’t bother letting them know I wrote about it before.

Its just part of the business of blogging
