Red Ventures an Internet marketing firm, has just purchased HomeInsurance.com.
Red Ventures is headquartered in Fort Mill where it has about 800 employees at the and also has operations in Miramar, Fla. and San Antonio, Texas.
Tim Kullick, an executive vice president and head of Red Ventures insurance division, is quoted as saying in the CharlotteObserver.com, as saying “HomeInsurance.com fit the profile they were looking for – a fast-growing firm that would complement other Red Venture products, especially those marketed to people moving.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
HomeInsurance.com back in November 2010 bought Homeownersinsurance.com For $570K which now appears to have been included in the sale
“This will help us leverage the power of the Internet,” Kullick said.
HomeInsurance, which employs about 125 people, will stay in Wilmington, Kullick said..

Seems a strange move to to sell HomeInsurance as the company strategy was developing. Red Ventures will hard sell as the industry moves to personalised policies. The terms of sale would be interesting.
