IRA.com Sells For Seven Figures

November 3, 2011 by Michael Berkens

Michael Jackness reports on his blog today that he has purchased the domain name IRA.com for any amount into the seven figures.

Michael writes on his blog today:

“”Our agreement prohibits us from talking about the exact deal points of our arrangement. The best I can say is take a look at estibot.com. This is one instance where I think their valuation is at least in the right ballpark. It’s unquestionably a 7 figure domain name.”

According to Esibot.com the domain name IRA.com has a value just short of $2M, so I think based off the comments made by the buyer the domain sold in the $1.5M-$2M range.

Yesterday on this blog Mr. Jackness teased about the purchase saying:

” I’m happy to report that everything is signed now and I’ll be able to make a post about this project tomorrow. It’s our first 7-figure domain name purchase and something I hope will be a “category killer” as they say.”

Michael gave a special shout out to Derek Giordano who helped broker the sale.

The domain was owned by Internet Global Corporation of Md.

Congrats to the buyer and seller

The man definitely has a knack for finding domains with keywords with huge Google search stats.

It’s probably the most risk-free strategy with domains.

The ROI won’t be as high as his previous ones but another very nice buy.

There’s over 5 trillion in IRA assets in the US. With the right strategy, this could be an absolute killer for the buyer. It appears that those search for anything “Irish” related is very small. Smart purchase.

the idea is the people searching for info on the irish resistance will click on a link and feel compelled to open up a retirement account in the u.s.a.

actually they will feel compelled to relocate to the u.s.a. and gain citizenship so they can qualify for opening a retirement account there. once they’ve moved to the golden land of opportunity, they can then avail themselves of all the amazing investment products america is creating.

    it’s brilliant! sheer genius!

    Ulster Volunteer Force – UVF – what about renaming IRA’s to UVF’s – i.e. Unaccounted-for Volunteeered Funds.

Can’t we all just not get along here – with a new fund called IRAUVF’s
