    Reality will start setting in after a couple of years – the $185,000 will likely be spent while people are distracted.

    Same old – same old

    Eventhough the conference is less then a 2 houre drive from my house, I dont see the new gTLD thing worth wasting the gas to attend. Maybe I’ll bite myself in the a$$ a few years from now, for not believing in this hype.

    I just dont see any possible explanation in how new gTLD’s could be profitable for any investor. Government could put good use to them and the cost is irrelevant because they are used to burning the taxpayers money.

    At the moment, all i am seeing is milions of dollars being earnd by ICAAN and hundreds of milions which will be burnt trying to reach a market which is already fully functionable with out any need of new gTLD’s.

    will any markmonitor people attend?

    more than a few of the particpants in mtgs such as this own typos, lots of them. hundreds. but according to markmonitor’s repeated solicitations to circleid readers, typos = “cybercriminals”.

    do criminals hold open conferences like this?

    “I just dont see any possible explanation in how new gTLD’s could be profitable…”
    ======

    Apparently, there are deep pockets lining up to pay people for unknown (goods) and services

    If Joe Six packs were running the show, you can bet every government agency would be in there investigating, taking names, and cracking down

    Since The.Right.People.® are running the show all one can say is buyer beware

    In the words of Bernie Madoff – “Everyone had to know”

    =====

    Wonder what qualifies someone as a “top people”?

    For $185,000 maybe people should sell t-shirts that say – “I am a top people”

    It will be interesting to see what happens when “the top people” find out the reality of cyberspace vs. their meat-space
