Conan O’Brien made a lot of comedic hay a few years back when he jokingly made up a domain name on the show- HornyManatee.com- and how NBC Corporate got back with him saying that he had to notify him whenever he does that, as they have some internal rule that they must buy the domain before the broadcast.
do you think hornymanatee.com got a thundering herd of traffic after that broadcast? probably like being slashdotted. but the herd is much, much larger, and comprised of impulsive, gullible late night coach potatoes instead of skeptical computer nerds.
