Joe Higgins Long Time Oversee.net Employee is Latest To Leave The Company

July 13, 2011 by Michael Berkens

We just got an email from Joe Higgins, a Sr. Account Manager for Oversee.net/DomainSponsor,  who told us he was leaving the company:

“”I am writing to inform you today that after 6 ½ great years with DomainSponsor and Oversee.net, I have decided to move on to pursue other opportunities.  I have enjoyed my time here and the opportunity to work with clients such as you. “”

Since our dealings with Oversee.net and DomainSponsor.com we have only had basically two representatives, Ron Sheridan and Joe Higgins.

Joe was for a time actually part of a small team chosen by Oversee.net when they decided to open their European office in the 1st quarter of 2010.

Here is how Joe was described in that Press Release:

“Joe Higgins currently is a senior account manager at DomainSponsor. One of his areas of focus is the international domain investor community, where he collaborates with international publishers to grow and develop their portfolios. Higgins helped organize and produce the very first DOMAINfest® conference in Barcelona in August 2006 and, since then, has continued to cultivate European relationships and gain a better understanding of the primary differences between European and U.S. traffic and parking platforms””

Joe always did a good job for us and we wish him continued success.

Just as a side note in that same PR announcing its European operation I found this quote from Peter Celeste, who was at the time, Oversee.net Senior Vice President and General Manager of Domain Services:

“””The European market is considered to be the fastest growing sector in the global domain space,” said Peter Celeste, Oversee.net Senior Vice President and General Manager of Domain Services. “This is a significant milestone for DomainSponsor. We’re delighted to welcome such a talented core team of seasoned domain industry experts. They understand local needs and will help build on existing relationships and establish new ones within the European community.”

Of course as you know probably know Peter left the company last month

Joe was our first DomainSponsor account manager and is an all round great guy.

His talents extend beyond the domain industry; when I first met Joe in 2007 he was the drummer for the band “The Likes of You”, which became one of the finalists in the reality TV show “America’s Next Great Band.” How cool is that?

    Best wishes to you, Joe!

Mighty Joe Higgins was the best hire of my career, period. Give me 10 men or women like Joe and I could take over the world.

I know Joe will succeed, that’s all he knows how to do.

    Keep poundin the skins Joe!
