The House IP & Internet Subcommittee is holding a hearing next week on the new gTLD program.
It looks like the hearing has been requested by IP interests to be a forum for their complaints that the trademark and other IP protections in new Guidebook that was published on April 15th.
Look for ICANN to be called on the carpet at the meeting.

Yup this is the benefit of having a strong well funded trade organization, unlike domainers
I like your site because it is very unique. But the information is more informative.
I would not be surprised at all if someone throws a big spanner in the works for ICANN, there is very little logic in what ICANN is doing, its all about the money and the big bonus checks.

Keeping the internet secure will prove more difficult for ICANN to do if all the most qualified staff jump ship to go and start up their own TLD’s 😉
