Sedo.com yesterday afternoon just put up a flash No Reserve auction of some nice domain names, many of which have already attracted bids.

It’s called a flash auction since it was unscheduled and previous unannounced

The highest bid belongs as of time of publication is ISU.com which currently is at $5K.

Several Geo .net’s are going for cheap so far:

KansasCity.net is sitting at $800

nuremberg.net is at $160

Destin.net is at $113

Many of the domains haven’t received a bid, including:

DayTraders.net

HeavyWeightBoxer.com

thephilippines.net

You can see all the domains in this auction by clicking here

    @TheBigLieSociety

Doesn’t matter if there is or isn’t free domains… Google recognizes .com, .net, .org as the creme of the crop in the SERPS so anyone who wants to buy the new extensions better be prepared to generate non-search engine traffic.

Aren´t these Rick Latonas domains… on his blog he said he will not do any more domain auctions himself.

“Google 2011 may still do that…do you think Google 2012 will operate the same ?”

Considering there has been many more extensions then the big three, and yet the big three dominate the SERPS I would say Yes, Google will still operate the same.

You think Google is going to give the same weighting to free domains as to the big three? Not likely. Search results are supposed to be about quality sites. Would Google expect a quality site on a .com or on a new free extension? 2012 will be the same as 2011.

    How are those .co’s ranking?

“Quality Sites” like the .COM Parking Lot ?

Do you think Consumers will give the same weight to a Parking Lot & Compelling Content ?

    TheBigLieSociety,

What shape/form will the free domains have and what restrictions/limitations on registration will there be….. to the best of your knowledge?

    Thanks

Free domains aren’t free … if they cost you your business.
