Will Google Make A Huge Announcement Tomorrow On Search?

September 7, 2010 by Michael Berkens

Tomorrow on Wednesday September 8th, Google will be holding a by invitation only event they are calling; an inside look at the evolution of Google search.

Some blogs and sites are claiming that BIG changes maybe announced at the event, even looking for a hint of what is to come on Google’s home page today, where a bunch of floating colorful dots whirl around the screen to for the word “Google”.

While blogs like Fool.com are speculating that the event will announce a substantial change in how Google search and organizes information:

The Motley Fool:  Is this the End of the Search Engine.

Another SEO blog predicts big changes are coming out of tommorow’s event including AJAX powered search results,  30 results per page, and possibly even putting into the system an updating of search results as you type feature.

Other blogs think this is just a big announcement for a Google iTunes killer.

So what do you think?

Everyone needs to keep their eye on this major Google event Tomorrow and so will we.

All I know is that with big changes @ G, our properties either wind up making or losing a shitload of money, so this has my heart in my throat.

If its by invitation only, it has to be something big. They wouldn’t waste the time or the money for something that could just be advertised on the front page of their site.

Could be that Google showing their use of the HTML 5?
Could make way for the whole 3d theme.

    Just and idea.
    Cheers

I think this posting would be better named:
Google shows their balls and they are fun to play with!

In case you don’t know what I am talking about. On the main Google page, the balls that form the word Google are interactive.

    You people have dirty minds.

    Cheers

I’ve said this before. It will make more sense over time.

    Domainer Declaration of Independence

    robots.txt

User-agent: GoogleBot (stop treating us like slaves)
    Disallow: *.*

User-agent: YahooBot (Play Nice or Else)

    Of course I’m half joking.

It’s the evolution of the internet so get used to it. Some people act like their whole life is in the balance based on G’s announcements. While I don’t underestimate the importance and consequences of their decisions I would never want to be that desperate or dependent on ANYTHING for my existence. Diversification is the name of the game.

P.S. if I was typo squatting domains, I would have “my heart in my throat” as well.

google is to announce they’re shutting down for retooling and will re-open in 6 years

It’s just amazing how they have monopolized the whole internet! It was envisioned as this “open” thing, the last frontier of freedom and now they have it by the balls!! But things will keep evolving , their rise to prominence happened very fast (in the scheme of things), who knows what tomorrow will bring? Where will the next revolution come from?

“P.S. if I was typo squatting domains, I would have “my heart in my throat” as well.”

Life sure is easy when you can make up whatever reality you please to most closely match your emotions.

“google is to announce they’re shutting down for retooling and will re-open in 6 years”

As Eric Schmidt, the CEO of Google has said many times… “It all boils down to Who is going to pay the Electric Bill ?”

As much of the computing and storage load as possible has to shift to the consumer’s CPE. The Cloud and central DNS can not continue. “Who is going to pay the Electric Bill ?”

Consumers will be getting NEW Services (from their own CPE) and old services will wither away. Consumers’ CPE will talk to other consumers’ CPE. Each consumer will pay their own electric bill. Central DNS will fade away.

I predict that part of Google’s announcement will involve more user “interactivity”. That is kind of the metaphor behind the “balls” and where the internet seems to be heading. Google TV should be unveiled in the next month or so and to some degree it will be the true merger of both television and the internet as opposed to watching tv on your computer or hooking up a laptop to a computer. Some very interesting things on the horizon.

Correction: I meant hooking up a laptop to a television monitor.

Google should announce that, next year, “We will be assimilated” and that “Resistance will be futile” then, all people of the world must open NOW a Google account… 😐

Goggle will anounce the end of all foreign TLD’s in there index.

No more .com , .net, .in or any other .ending

To be in the Google search index you will have to register a “www.you.Google or “www.company.Google” TLD !

Country specific and non english domains must be in following standard ” http://www.you.de.Google” or “www.company.in.Google.
