We need to keep in mind that thousands, or even tens of thousands, are nothing for many people and most serious corporations.

I wonder if we can still find some one word dictionary domains available?

I just won Peliculas.co which IMO is better than Movies.co which is the english version. I only bought 1 .co in the landrush so I can’t complain. Time will tell.
I think a spanish name in a spanish country extension is a better investment Long Term.

    Thanks, Jim

as said, not particularly high prices for .co domains… and, yes, the best is mexi.co and it’s underpriced

You are probably seeing the highest prices that you are likely to see for .co. I’m sorry, but I keep seeing .com “typo.”

I’m surprised that Unity.co went for that amount of money. Just last month, I picked up the .us version for the price of a backorder.

The landrush auctions at peak interest are generally the most a domain will ever sell for.

Pick virtually any recent TLD launch, as time goes on the interest in the new extension loses steam the initial prices paid for most domains seem crazy.

.CO may be different. It depends on the Registry players and pricing.

IF .CO really wants to show that .COM can be de-throned, they could
lower the Registry pricing to create a compelling stampede. ? $1 ?

Current .CO buyers may be buying the right to be able to participate in the Stampede Phase, which has never been tried.

Unfortunately, the Nash Equilibrium shows it is unlikely a Stampede will happen.

    Soud,

There’s plenty of one word and 3 character .co still unregistered. I have a list.

I picked up an awesome 3 character .co for the price of registration. It has many different meanings.

Instead of buying anymore .co (only bought 4), I decided it was best to buy more .com domains.

I’ve hand registered many good ones, including generic keywords that lead their category.

In addition, I bought some .us domains where
Frank Schilling owns the .net version. These are some great names. There are a ton of good deals out three.

.co is a nice extention. However, it’s far too extension for me to invest into. I would rather make an investment instead of gambling.

The registry already sold 450,000 domains for $30 they are doing just fine

    @MHB

YES !! But what if they sold 80,000,000 domains ? at $ ?

and, more importantly, what if those are 80 million .COM owners who defect ?

[Note: Some people may pay 3x to NOT do business with .COM or their Regulators]

Any of the names that complete a word are cool, but are they going to generate any interest in the aftermarket. What about SanFrancis.co, or pet.co, and the rest of the .co finishers. I have a situation that I’m currently experiencing. Any advice would help.

Please visit my blog to give me some advice. Thanks.

I would buy more .condomains if they were $15. $29.99 and more is too much. I find that money is better spent on .com.

Off topic; should I take down privacy off from all my domains? I lost a big deal because of the transfer rejection due to privacy. The buyer didn’t want to put through the transfer again after the rejection.

It may be my fault because I could have took down privacy before transfer to another registrar, but I didn’t know. Assumed it was the same as when initiating transfer between GD and Sedo.

Was using iPhone. I meant .co domains instead of .condomains. The spellling feature changes some words around.

    Eintein,

Great point there. Most people DON’T realize that spending $350000 on a .co domain, for some, is pocket change. Unfortunately many compare sales,in any extension, and their value, to their own pocket books. The people buying these are not suckers. Some people ask, “How can that person spend $30000 on new ski equipment”. Well, when you have 30 mil in the bank and 70000 coming in every month, what’s the problem?

  26. Soud says

    August 28, 2010 at 6:02 pm

@Jason but I wonder if they are all worth a four figure price in the aftermarket as hgh.co? I wonder if it was a domainer (a heavy investor) or an end user who acquired it.
