The auction on these domains really started on New York at the live TRAFFIC auction when NY.biz sold for $7K.
Since then all the action has gone online where the .biz registry is still holding auctions daily.
Since this auction model extends the auction another 24 hours every time a bid is placed within 24 hours of the scheduled close, like the .me auctions, some of these auctions go on for quite a while.
So far of the domains that have actually closed, of the one’s we tracked, the highest sale has been NJ.biz selling for $4,250, AA.biz sold for $2,250 and DC.biz which went for a very reasonable $1,855.
My observation is that domains that sold earlier in the process were better deals for the buyers.
